Vang Danh miner carries out Uncle Ho's teachings

On February 2, 1965, the cadres and people of Uong Bi Town and Vang Danh Coal Mine were honored to welcome Uncle Ho to visit. During this visit, Uncle advised: “Currently, Uong Bi Power Plant and Vang Danh Mine are both the largest and most modern enterprises in our country. Coal and electricity are essential for industry and agriculture. You guys should try your best to do more, faster, better and cheaper”. Uncle Ho's advice was a great motivation for generations of cadres and workers of Vang Danh Mine to strive to complete and complete their tasks well, increasingly increasing coal mining output to serve the socio-economic development of the province and the country.

In February 1965, Vang Danh Coal Mine began mining coal after a period of design and restoration. The result that year was the exploitation of over 29,600 tons of raw coal and the production of over 14,400 tons of clean coal. These were the first achievements of Vang Danh miners. Since then, with the tradition of "Discipline and unity", with the spirit of diligence and determination, generations of Vang Danh miners have bravely overcome difficulties, quickly started to level mountains, open roads, build houses, restore and produce. In their production process, there were times when they encountered difficulties that seemed insurmountable, but the more difficult the situation, the more Vang Danh miners promoted the spirit of "discipline and unity", "unity - overcoming difficulties", firmly believing in the Party, and having iron determination.

Thanks to the spirit of the miners, the production and business of Vang Danh Coal Mine in the early period, later Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company, gradually stabilized and grew. In 1997 (after 33 years of establishment of the mine), for the first time, the coal output of Vang Danh Coal exceeded the design capacity of 600,000 tons/year. 10 years later (2007), the output increased 5 times (reaching 3,042,532 tons), marking an important milestone in output. And since then, the output of Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company has always reached and exceeded the plan assigned by the Group. Typically, in 2022, in the context of both production and response to the Covid 19 pandemic, the Company still achieved the target of exploiting over 4.2 million tons of raw coal, consuming over 3.8 million tons, revenue of over 6,743 billion VND, average income of 20 million VND/person/month, and paying the budget nearly 1,200 billion VND.

Over the past 60 years, the Company has welcomed over 200,000 employees to work. They are workers who actively participate in the production emulation movement, overcome difficulties, invest in science and technology, and new technologies to increase productivity and coal mining output; gradually master and convert technology from wooden furnace supports, friction columns to single hydraulic columns, mobile hydraulic racks XDY-1T2/LY, KDT-1 supports, ZH1.600/16/24Z frame racks... The joint efforts and consensus of Vang Danh miners have dug over 960 km of tunnels and exploited over 80 million tons of raw coal, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of Quang Ninh and the country.

Mr. Pham Van Minh, former Party Secretary and former Director of the Company, affirmed: The past 60 years have been a journey full of difficulties and challenges, but also full of efforts, persistent efforts and enthusiasm of generations of Vang Danh miners. Vang Danh miners have carried out the spirit of following the revolutionary path chosen by the Party and Uncle Ho; actively studying and following his ideology, morality and style through specific and practical actions to contribute to the development of the Company...

With its achievements, Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company has been awarded 40 medals, medals of various types, many flags, banners, certificates of merit, certificates of merit and other noble awards by the Party, the State, all levels and sectors. In particular, the Company was awarded the title "Hero of Labor in the Renewal Period" (2003). These are milestones marking the efforts of generations of Vang Danh miners following Uncle Ho's teachings, and are a recognition of the Company's great contributions to the cause of building and developing the Coal industry, Quang Ninh province and the country.
