In a specific case, Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, a 12th grade student at Tran Phu High School (HCMC), wondered: "I submitted my application based on my high school transcript to 3 universities and my application based on my ability test scores to 2 other schools, but was informed that I was eligible for early admission to all 5 schools. I don't know how I should choose, and what should I do in the future to make sure I am admitted?"
Regarding this issue, Dr. Vo Van Tuan, Vice Principal of Van Lang University, acknowledged that it is very common for a candidate to submit applications using early admission methods to many schools and receive multiple notifications of eligibility for admission.
Candidates come to the university to submit their application for admission using early admission methods.
"However, students need to note that candidates can only be admitted to one wish after registering on the Ministry of Education and Training's system. Registering a wish that has been admitted is completely different from registering new wishes using high school graduation exam scores," Dr. Tuan noted.
If the candidate is eligible to be admitted early for 5 wishes, according to Dr. Tuan, then he/she only needs to put one wish that he/she wants in the first priority order, there is no need to put all 5 wishes because if he/she puts all 5 wishes, the system will still consider the first wish as admission.
As for registering new wishes using the high school graduation exam method, candidates need to put everything in order of priority. If priority 1 is not passed, the system will continue to consider priority 2... This is the difference between placing the wish that was admitted early and the new wish, according to Dr. Tuan.
In case candidates want to register a new wish but still do not want to lose the opportunity to be admitted early, Dr. Tuan emphasized that they should put the wish that was admitted early first, then the new wishes in order of priority.
Many candidates are eligible for early admission to several universities at the same time.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, Deputy Director of the Center for Admissions and Business Relations of the University of Finance and Marketing, added: "When candidates are admitted to schools through early admission, the next step is to review the information about their admission wishes to the schools on the general information portal of the Ministry of Education and Training after the schools update the list. If their names are not on the system, they need to check with the schools to consider adding missing information to avoid losing their chances of admission."
Master Phung said that many candidates mistakenly think that receiving the notification of early admission is enough, and that they do not need to take the next step of registering their wishes on the general admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training. "If so, candidates will lose their chance of being admitted. And even if they register on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training without the correct technique, they will also lose their chance. Therefore, students need to think carefully to put their wishes for the major they most want to study first," Master Phung shared.
