The 2024 National Guitar Talent Festival, organized by the Vietnam Institute for Educational and Cultural Development in collaboration with the Department of Grassroots Culture (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), will take place from August 1 to October 27.
The event is said to be a continuation of the 2024 National Piano Talent Festival , also jointly organized by the two organizations, which ended on March 24.
Guitar talent festival calls for vigilance
At the press conference launching the contest on May 12 in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan - Chairman Vietnam Institute for Educational and Cultural Development, Head of Organizing Committee - Share the 2024 National Piano Talent Festival The event was very successful and the organizers found some outstanding piano talents.
However, there are some organizations and individuals who take advantage of the contest's reputation to create fake fanpages with the purpose of appropriating and defrauding parents of money.
Many parents were scammed out of a large sum of money.
"Therefore, when launching the 2024 National Guitar Talent Festival , the organizers also warned parents to be vigilant against these scams," he said.
According to Mr. Tuan, in addition to choosing a test that is suitable for the contestants' ability and meets the criteria and requirements of the contest, parents also need to carefully read the regulations and registration instructions posted on the official website (www.festivalguitartalent.vn). Do not click on any unofficial website addresses or fanpages of the program.
The organizers also announced the only hotline number is 0838.080.806. In particular, apart from the registration fee of 500,000 VND, there will be no challenge programs, invitations for contestants to buy and sell or organize any related games.

In the freestyle round, contestants choose to solo a piece of their choice in the cover, semi-classical or fingerstyle genre.
In the classical category, candidates choose to solo a classical work with priority given to authors JS Bach, F. Carulli, F. Tarega, V. Gomez, Ta Tan, Dang Ngoc Long, Nguyen Hai Thoai.
Candidates will go through three qualifying rounds including the talent search round (organized online from August 1 to August 31), the semi-final round - shining (in all three regions of North - Central - South from October 5 to 20) and the final round and award gala (October 26 and 27 at the Vietnam National Academy of Music).
The organizers plan to select 1,150 candidates for the semi-finals, divided equally into 350 candidates each in the North - Central - South regions.
In the final round, 300 contestants will be selected to compete for special prizes, gold medals, silver medals and bronze medals.
In addition to the prize money, the finalists will receive a guitar worth 10 million VND.
After winning, contestants will participate in private counseling and orientation sessions.
The organizers will also hold mini concerts to create a performance playground, improve skills and help contestants confidently develop comprehensively after the competition.
Late last year, sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan listed some tricks that scammers often use:
1. Copying images, content, and videos from the contest's official fanpage to a fake fanpage, then leading parents into a closed group, and offering attractive prizes, up to hundreds of millions of dong, to attract parents to register their children to participate.
2. Parents who want to participate can transfer money to join the "challenge".
