Special achievement of 9th grade female student nominated for Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces

Although only 15 years old and a student of grade 9/3, Thai Nguyen Secondary School, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province, Dang Cat Tien has surpassed many "heavyweight" candidates to enter the top 20 nominations in the voting round for the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award 2023.

Cat Tien's biggest mark in 2023 is that she was chosen to play the role of National Assembly Chairman to chair the session in the "Children's National Assembly" mock session held at Dien Hong Hall, National Assembly House.

However, to be trusted with this important responsibility, Dang Cat Tien had previously achieved many achievements, being an outstanding face in the work of the Youth Union and the Young Pioneers not only at school and local level but also at the Central level. Dang Cat Tien possesses a record of achievements with many certificates, awards, and commendations at all levels.

In 2023 alone, Dang Cat Tien received a certificate of merit from the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union for "Achieving outstanding achievements at the 4th National Excellent Team Commander Festival in 2023," a certificate of merit from the Executive Committee of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union for "Achieving outstanding achievements in the Training Program of the Executive Committee of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union in November 2023," a certificate of merit and a trophy from the Executive Committee of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union for "Achieving outstanding achievements in implementing the movement of Thousand Good Deeds of Khanh Hoa Province 2023" in the Commendation Ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of "Thousand Good Deeds of Heroes," won the title of "Uncle Ho's Good Nephew at the City level in 2023," won the Second Prize - Children's Storytelling Contest according to books in 2023," won the First Prize in English in the contest to select excellent students of Khanh Hoa Province in 2023".

If we count the previous years, the number of certificates of merit of Dang Cat Tien is certainly much more than her age.

Sharing with reporters of VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper, Cat Tien said that she was very honored to be trusted by the authorities to take on the role of National Assembly Chairman in the Children's National Assembly Mock Session. To take on this new role well, she learned about the Party and State's policies on children, about the work of preventing and combating accidents for children, and about the operation of the National Assembly.

Besides, I also spent time learning more about the opinions of local children as well as children nationwide to be able to synthesize and give the most objective opinions in the Mock National Assembly Session.

Passionate about Youth Union and Young Pioneer activities since primary school, Cat Tien said that most of the Youth Union and Young Pioneer activities aim to contribute to the benefit of society. Therefore, when participating in Youth Union and Young Pioneer activities, she feels that she is doing meaningful work and at the same time, it helps her to become more mature and gain more experience.

Child delegates played the role of National Assembly delegates to discuss two issues: protecting children from healthy interactions on the internet and preventing accidents, injuries, violence and child abuse.

“I am lucky to live in a positive environment, have opportunities and precious feelings that not everyone has, so I want to use my luck and happiness to do something useful. Although it is not something too big, I believe that many small things will contribute to big changes in society,” Cat Tien said.

Sharing the secret to actively participating in Youth Union and Team activities while still achieving excellent academic results, Cat Tien said the important thing is to know how to arrange time reasonably to balance.

Happy to be in the top 20 nominees for Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces 2023, Cat Tien said she was extremely surprised but also very honored and proud. “Almost all of you have admirable achievements. I consider this an opportunity to learn and use it as inspiration and motivation to continue to try to participate in more social activities, contribute good things to society as well as not to disappoint the trust of leaders at all levels, teachers, family, and school for me,” Cat Tien said./.
