Establishment of Steering Committee for building regional and international financial center

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Decision No. 1160 dated October 6, 2023 to establish the Steering Committee for developing the Regional and International Financial Center Project.

The Prime Minister decided to establish the Steering Committee for the development of the Regional and International Financial Center Project (Steering Committee) to advise the Government and the Prime Minister on research, direction, and coordination in resolving important, inter-sectoral tasks in the process of developing the Regional and International Financial Center Project.

The Head of the Steering Committee is Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai. The Deputy Head of the Committee is Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung.

The members include leaders of: Ministry of Planning and Investment (Standing Member), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Justice, State Bank of Vietnam, Government Office, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Da Nang City People's Committee.

Focus - Establishment of Steering Committee for building regional and international financial center — Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai is Head of the Steering Committee for the development of the Regional and International Financial Center Project.

The Steering Committee is responsible for researching and proposing to the Prime Minister directions and solutions to develop the Regional and International Financial Center Project; assisting the Prime Minister in directing, harmonizing and coordinating among ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies and localities in developing the Regional and International Financial Center Project.

At the same time, the Steering Committee assists the Prime Minister in urging ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies and localities to develop the Regional and International Financial Center Project; presides over coordination and organization of cooperation, consultation and exchange activities with domestic and international agencies and organizations on the development of the Regional and International Financial Center in Vietnam, and performs other tasks related to the development of the Regional and International Financial Center Project assigned by the Prime Minister.

The Steering Committee works part-time, promoting the responsibility of the Head of the Steering Committee and each member of the Steering Committee in researching, proposing directions, tasks, and solutions to build and implement the Regional and International Financial Center Project, ensuring feasibility, effectiveness, and suitability with the practical situation to maximize the potential and advantages of Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang City in particular.
