On the afternoon of September 23, Mr. Nguyen Huu Long, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Truc Commune, Thach Thanh District, Thanh Hoa Province, said that Da Ban Hill, Chinh Thanh Village, was cracked, eroded, and rocks and soil flooded into the walls of many houses.
According to Mr. Long, the crack on the slope of Da Ban hill is more than 100m long, and there is a risk of landslide at any time. If the hill collapses, it will bury dozens of houses below.

On September 23, local authorities were deployed to the residential area at the foot of Da Ban hill to monitor and respond promptly to landslides. Local authorities have put up ropes and signs warning of areas at high risk of landslides.
According to local people, the cracks and landslides on Da Ban hill occurred on the morning of September 22 and became more severe by the evening of the same day.

To ensure the safety of people, 25 families with about 70 people living at the foot of Da Ban hill had to evacuate urgently.
