Winning the lawsuit against HAGL, foreign players still have to play street football to make a living in Pleiku

A few days ago, the amateur football team Betong 26 Gia Lai announced a special new player before the start of the 2024 National 7-a-side Football Cup. This player is Martin Dzilah - who has been involved in a lawsuit with Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club for more than 2 months.

Martin Dzilah had to go to Vietnam to present himself to Gia Lai Provincial Police to clarify some details. Therefore, to have enough money to sustain his life in the coming days, Martin Dzilah accepted the invitation from Betong 26 Gia Lai and played 7-a-side football. This striker immediately scored a goal for his new team in the opening match. He and his teammates had the joy of victory.

Martin said he had many difficulties when he did not receive the compensation of 20,000 USD as agreed when terminating his contract with HAGL. The Ghanaian player agreed to sign the contract termination minutes, the minutes of receiving the money first and then being paid later. But according to Martin, HAGL did not transfer the money as promised. Reluctantly, he had to sue FIFA and won 29,000 USD.

HAGL disagreed with FIFA's decision and appealed but failed. They failed to pay the above amount before the deadline of October 15 and were banned from transferring players indefinitely. The penalty will only be lifted if HAGL pays the above amount to Martin Dzilah.

Regarding the above incident, HAGL Football Club said: " At 3:00 p.m. on March 21, 2024, at the office of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club at 15 Truong Chinh, Pleiku, Gia Lai province, player Martin Dzilah and HAGL signed a record of termination of the Labor Contract. HAGL Club paid player Martin Dzilah 20,000 USD as agreed. Player Martin Dzilah signed a confirmation that he had received the full amount.

On August 30, 2024, HAGL Club received a decision from FIFA requiring it to pay player Martin Dzilah 29,000 USD based on player Martin Dzilah's complaint .
