(Dan Tri) - Ba Son Bridge will be constructed with an artistic lighting system (phase 1) before the new year 2025, according to the design approved by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport.
In order to contribute to beautifying the Saigon River, enhancing the value and beauty of Ba Son Bridge at night, based on the city's proposal, Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company (Thadico) has researched a solution for artistic lighting in the form of direct and indirect lighting on the cable-stayed system and bridge structure.
Accordingly, in the immediate future, Thadico will invest in the first phase of artistic lighting (indirect artistic lighting, including lighting on cables, towers and both sides of span structures, highlighting characteristic architectural features) according to the design approved by the Department of Transport.
The investment and completion of the entire artistic lighting project (direct artistic lighting, including the installation of LED lights on the outside of the cable-stayed cable to create dynamic effects, changing according to architectural themes or important events) will be funded by Ho Chi Minh City.
Immediately after the city approved the project, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport announced the results of the technical design appraisal and construction permit (phase 1) of the Ba Son Bridge's artistic lighting project in early December. Thadico urgently accelerated the construction progress to ensure completion and put into operation in time for the 2025 New Year, combined with Nguyen Hue walking street and Bach Dang park. Thereby creating a night highlight for the Saigon River and a sightseeing spot for tourists and city residents.

Ba Son Bridge (Thu Thiem 2 Bridge) not only plays a role in connecting traffic between the center of District 1 and the new urban area of Thu Thiem, but is also considered a modern symbolic project of Ho Chi Minh City. The project was completed and handed over to the city by Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company (Thadico) in April 2022.
Ba Son Bridge is nearly 1.5km long with 6 lanes, the bridge itself is 885 meters long, the bridge has a unique "two-plane cable" cable-stayed design with a 113m high tower in the shape of a dragon's head, arranged in the direction of Thu Thiem (Thu Duc City).
The completion and putting into use of Ba Son Bridge contributes to perfecting the main traffic network, enhancing the connection between the city center and Thu Thiem peninsula, helping to reduce traffic pressure on key routes such as Nguyen Huu Canh, Thu Thiem tunnel... The project was announced by Ho Chi Minh City as one of the 10 outstanding events of 2022.
