On his personal page, Rafael Nadal said he will participate in the ATP 250 tournament in Brisbane (Australia) taking place from December 31, 2023 to January 7, 2024. This is the tournament where Nadal will test his form before the Australian Open in January.

If Nadal returns to the Australian Open, he is expected to face his arch-rival Novak Djokovic. Since being eliminated in the second round of the 2023 Australian Open on January 19, Nadal has been out of action for a year due to a lower back injury.

According to Spanish press, Roland Garros is Nadal's goal in 2024. The "King of Clay" wants to win the 15th Grand Slam on clay in France in what is considered the final season of his career.

Rafael Nadal has 22 Grand Slam titles in his career, two titles behind Djokovic's record. However, in addition to Djokovic, Nadal will face many big stars of tennis such as Medvedev, Alcaraz, Holger Rune or especially Jannik Sinner.

Sharing with Corriere dello Sport (Italy), coach Darren Cahill revealed the goal for next year of his student Jannik Sinner: "I am not surprised about Sinner in recent weeks, he has progressed very quickly and shown his ability in a high-pressure competition environment.

Now Sinner understands his opponents better, understands his body better and adjusts his playing style accordingly. The Olympics are our number one priority next year. Sinner wants to play for the Italian team, followed by his first Grand Slam title."
