Indian golfer comes from behind to win the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024

The race for the BRG Open Golf Championship 2024 title kicked off on August 29 at the Jack Nicklaus-designed par-73 course. After three days of intense competition, the championship was won by Indian golfer Rahil Gangjee with a total score of -10.

The prize for the champion is 17,500 USD out of the total prize fund of 100,000 USD along with a trophy made from Chu Dau ceramic ( Hai Duong ).

Before entering the final day today, August 31, Rahil Gangjee had a total score of -7 and was 3 strokes behind the leader Aidric Jose Chan. However, Gangjee had an impressive final day with a round of 70 (-3) with 5 birdies and 3 bogeys, scoring 3 birdies in the last 4 holes to bring the total score to -10, equaling the achievement with Jose Chan in the group behind.

Jose Chan reached the final hole of 18 and only needed to keep par to take the match to the playoff. However, he made a mistake with a bogey and had a total score of -9. Therefore, the championship officially belonged to Rahil Gangjee.

This tournament, there were 19 Vietnamese golfers, of which 4 representatives successfully passed the cut: Nguyen Tuan Anh, Truong Chi Quan, Nguyen Huu Quyet and Doan Uy. Nguyen Tuan Anh was the golfer with the best result with 11th place on the ranking, thereby achieving the title of Best Amateur.

The tournament organizers presented the championship trophy to Mr. Rahil Gangjee.

The BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024 tournament belongs to the Asian Development Tour (ADT) system, bringing together most of the faces leading the ADT Prize Rankings, so the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024 tournament takes place with high professional quality, full of drama and attraction.

Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that 2024 is the third consecutive year that the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang will be hosted, contributing to affirming Da Nang as "Asia's leading event and festival destination". This is also an important milestone in developing the city's golf tourism potential to become one of the leading golf tourism destinations in Asia and the world, contributing to promoting the development of high-quality tourism, in line with the city's tourism development orientation.
