Fishing boat caught fire, fishermen lost more than half a billion dong

On the evening of February 5, information from the People's Committee of Ky Loi commune (Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh) said that a fishing boat fire had just occurred in the area, causing great damage.

The incident occurred at around 1:20 p.m. the same day. The fishing boat, numbered HT 90382 TS, with a capacity of nearly 400 horsepower, owned by Mr. Mai Hong T. (residing in village 4 Dong Yen, Ky Loi commune), was anchored at Ky Loi wharf, when it suddenly caught fire.

At this time, there was no one on the fishing boat. Authorities mobilized vehicles and tools, and coordinated with local people to approach the scene.

About an hour later, the fire was extinguished. The fishing boat was severely damaged, the cabin and many tools and properties were burned. The initial property damage was estimated at about 500-600 million VND.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
