During the April 30 - May 1 holiday, traffic police will increase enforcement of violations of traffic order and safety.

National Highway 4D, the section from Lao Cai city to Sa Pa town and vice versa, is forecasted to have a lot of traffic during the April 30 - May 1 holiday. To ensure traffic order and safety on the vital route connecting Lao Cai city with Sa Pa National Tourist Area, the Traffic Police Department, Provincial Police have deployed forces to direct traffic since the morning of April 26, while increasing patrols, controlling and handling violations of traffic order and safety.

Major Tran Duy Khanh, Captain of Traffic Police Team No. 6, Traffic Police Department, Provincial Police said: It is forecasted that traffic volume on National Highway 4D, from Lao Cai city to Sa Pa town and vice versa, will increase dramatically in the coming days. To ensure traffic order and safety, we have proactively built traffic control points to regulate traffic from a distance, in order to minimize accidents and traffic jams. At the same time, we have also increased patrols and mobile and fixed controls to promptly detect and strictly handle cases of driving vehicles under the influence of alcohol, encroaching on lanes, speeding, reckless overtaking, etc.

Unlike previous years, on the occasion of April 30 - May 1 this year, the Traffic Police Department, Provincial Police not only deployed tasks on national highways and provincial roads, but also coordinated with local police to deploy forces to remote villages, hamlets, and ethnic minority areas to propagate and mobilize people to strictly comply with the provisions of the law when participating in traffic, and at the same time resolutely handle violations to deter and educate.

Colonel Pham Gia Chien, Head of the Traffic Police Department, Provincial Police, said: In recent times, there have been many traffic accidents in rural areas, especially at intersections between rural roads and national highways and provincial roads. Therefore, during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, we request the police of districts, towns and cities to simultaneously mobilize and establish working groups in communes, wards and towns to carry out tasks to ensure traffic order and safety.

In order to better serve the travel needs of the people, contribute to reducing traffic congestion and ensuring smooth traffic on key routes, the Department of Transport Inspectorate has developed a Plan to ensure traffic order and safety to serve the travel needs of the people during the April 30 - May 1 holiday and the time of the high school graduation exam and the peak summer tourism season in 2024.

Traffic inspectors check the operating conditions of passenger vehicles.

On April 26, at Lao Cai Central Bus Station, traffic inspectors directly inspected passenger transport business conditions such as cameras, journey monitoring equipment, vehicle registration, badges, fire prevention and fighting equipment, etc. In particular, the traffic inspectors and the Department of Transport will coordinate with relevant agencies and units to effectively carry out traffic flow, ensuring urban order and civilization in the province; inspect, control and manage stations and parking lots to ensure smooth passenger and cargo transportation, reduce congestion and accidents; ensure traffic safety in key areas and traffic hubs such as train stations, bus stations, border gates, etc. In particular, drivers and vehicle owners will not be allowed to compete for passengers, carry more people than prescribed, or arbitrarily raise ticket prices, etc.

Although the authorities have implemented many measures, to ensure traffic order and safety, especially during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, the cooperation of people and tourists from all over the world is needed. It is necessary to strictly comply with the law when participating in traffic to avoid unfortunate consequences that may occur.
