It is known that the budget to repair the B stand of Thong Nhat Stadium and some of the stadium's functional rooms is 149 billion VND, which is currently available and is only waiting for the procedures to be completed before upgrading and repairing.

Grandstand B has stopped welcoming spectators for over a year now. The outside of the stadium is used as a meeting room for the HCMC youth team.

It is expected that the stadium will be handed over to the construction unit in January 2025 and completed in December 2025.

During the project construction, the stadium will build additional wastewater treatment facilities, garbage collection facilities, underground water tanks for domestic use and fire protection, water treatment systems, water supply and drainage systems, communication systems, grandstand lighting systems, trees, lawns, and lightning protection systems.
