The qualifying round of the South Central and Central Highlands region of the 3rd Vietnam Youth Football Tournament - 2025 THACO Cup will take place from January 10 to January 18, 2025 at Nha Trang University (Khanh Hoa). This region has 6 student football teams participating, including: Quy Nhon University, Nha Trang University, Khanh Hoa University, Nha Trang College of Tourism, Thai Binh Duong University and Da Lat University.

The teams will compete in a round robin format to select 4 teams to enter the semi-finals and finals. The winning team will win a ticket to the final round held in Ho Chi Minh City. This year, the tournament has two new players: Quy Nhon University and Thai Binh Duong University.

At this time, in the Central region, the weather is constantly raining, greatly affecting the practice.

According to coach Thai Minh Thuan, Quy Nhon University currently does not have an 11-player training field, so they only practice on a 7-player field, which makes it difficult for players to approach tactics and physical training.

Coach Truong Quoc Duy said that the Quy Nhon University football team has some players from the Binh Dinh U.19 team, but it is still very difficult because the team participating in the tournament is all new players, so they do not understand each other during training.

"Up to this point, the school's football team has not yet tried out and played a single match on the 11-player field. We are trying to let the players practice together more to understand each other and find hidden factors," said coach Truong Quoc Duy.

While practicing enthusiastically with his teammates, player Nguyen Van Ha said that this is the first time Quy Nhon University football team has participated in the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2025 THACO Cup, so the players are in a very comfortable mood, will compete with the spirit of rubbing shoulders, learning experience for the next season.

"Coming to the tournament, Quy Nhon University will consider every match as a final match. We will try to compete well in the qualifying round to advance to the final round held in Ho Chi Minh City," Van Ha shared.

The qualifying round of the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2025 THACO Cup has 66 teams, divided into 6 groups competing by geographical area from December 28, 2024 to January 18, 2025.

Specifically: Northern region (from December 30, 2024 - January 10, 2025) at Thuy Loi University stadium; Central Coast region (from January 6 - January 12, 2025) at Military Region 5 stadium - Da Nang; South Central and Central Highlands region (from January 10 - January 18, 2025) at Nha Trang University stadium; Southeast region (from January 4 - January 12, 2025) at Bau Thanh Stadium, Ba Ria - Vung Tau; Southwest region (from January 8 - January 17, 2025) at Can Tho Stadium; and Ho Chi Minh City region (from December 28, 2024 - January 15, 2025) at Ton Duc Thang University stadium.

At the end of the qualifying round, the Organizing Committee selected 11 teams along with the host team Ton Duc Thang University to compete in the final round taking place from March 1 to March 16, 2025.
