On the morning of February 26, localities in Thanh Hoa province simultaneously held military enlistment ceremonies for 2024.
In the atmosphere of the military enlistment day, the luggage that the young men carry with them is their will, their dreams, their firm belief in a bright future, and the affection and love of their relatives and homeland, determined to fulfill the task of firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the country.
Before leaving for his mission, new recruit Le Dung at the military enlistment point in Thieu Hoa district shared that he was very honored and proud to join the army in 2024. In the army, Dung will be trained in the health, spirit and will of a Vietnamese soldier; at the same time, he will strive and be determined to complete the assigned tasks.
The weather in Thanh Hoa this morning was cold and there was light rain. However, this did not affect the excitement and spirit of more than 3,650 new recruits. Localities have carefully prepared the necessary conditions for the festival and facilities. The ceremony took place with an exciting cultural and artistic program, congratulations and assignment of tasks from local leaders to the new recruits on their way to duty.
Lieutenant Colonel Le Dinh Trong, Deputy Commander of the Thieu Hoa District Military Command, said that the selection of citizens for military service in 2024 was better than in 2003, especially in terms of health and culture. The number of young people admitted to the Party before joining the army was 27 citizens.
"Up to this point, the number of citizens leaving for military service has always had a good mindset, been enthusiastic about joining the army, and is ready to receive and complete all assigned tasks well," said Lieutenant Colonel Le Dinh Trong.
It is noteworthy that among the new recruits leaving for military service this time in Thanh Hoa province, there are many who have graduated from university, many who have already started working but still put their jobs aside and volunteered to go on a noble mission for the country.
Also this morning (February 26), the provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien Hue simultaneously held the 2024 military enlistment ceremony.
This year, the quality of young people joining the army in Quang Binh province has many higher standards than previous years in terms of educational level, number of party members, and union members. 63% of young people have high school, intermediate, college, and university education, 5 new recruits are party members, 49 young people are ethnic minorities. Notably, nearly 40% of the recruited young people voluntarily applied for military service.
Before the military enlistment ceremony, authorities at all levels and organizations in the province met to encourage and support families of young men joining the army. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province coordinated with units to present 10 breeding cows to families of young men in difficult circumstances joining the military in 2024.
The Quang Binh Provincial Military Command, together with local Party committees and authorities, have taken good care of implementing the military rear policy. On average, each young man joining the army received support and gifts worth nearly 4 million VND/person.
New recruit Hoang Viet Anh, from Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh province, said he felt very happy when he was selected for military service in 2024. He wants to train himself in the military environment, wants to contribute a small part of himself to his homeland and country, and tries to complete his study and training tasks well.
Also this morning, localities in Quang Tri province held a military enlistment ceremony in 2024, sending off more than 1,000 young men to perform military service.
This year, in Quang Tri province, many new female soldiers volunteered to join the army. New soldier Tran Thi Phuong Thao (24 years old), from Huynh Cong Dong village, Trung Nam commune, Vinh Linh district, is a special case when she gave up a stable, high-paying job to wear the green uniform of a soldier.
After graduating from Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry, Thao worked as a veterinarian at a large farm in Binh Phuoc province, earning 18 million VND/month. Dreaming of becoming a soldier since childhood, Thao decided to apply for military service.
Tran Thi Phuong Thao said that her grandfather fought in the Dien Bien Phu battlefield and her father was also a soldier. The image of the soldier's uniform was imprinted in her mind, so she dreamed of becoming a soldier.
“I think I am still young and can contribute a lot, so I joined the army and used my youth to contribute to the country. My family has a tradition, and my parents also think this is a good environment for me to train and study. I decided to quit my job to join the army. I have also prepared everything and am mentally ready,” Thao shared.
In this military draft, Thua Thien Hue province has 1,553 young men enlisting in military units and police forces. This year, localities in Thua Thien Hue province have done a good job of examining, selecting and calling citizens to join the army, so the quality of young men with health class 1,2 is higher than previous years; age from 18 to 25 years old. The number of young men graduating from university and college has increased.
