Accordingly, the 18 people detained include 5 doctors, of which 3 are Heads of multidisciplinary clinics, including: Long Binh Tan Clinic, Tan Long Clinic and Hien Phuoc Clinic; 2 doctors are Deputy Heads of Tam Duc Multidisciplinary Clinic and specialists at My Duc Multidisciplinary Clinic; the remaining 13 are pharmacists, medical staff and brokers specializing in forging related documents.
Earlier, on the morning of May 30, the police force simultaneously searched clinics and houses of a number of subjects in the wards of Tan Hiep, Long Binh, Long Binh Tan, Trang Dai, and Buu Hoa.
During the search, the police seized hundreds of thousands of certificates of sick leave for social insurance, health examination papers (with fake results, no information of the examinee) and many machines and documents related to medical examination and treatment activities at the clinics.
Bien Hoa City Police have summoned more than 30 people involved in making fake documents for verification and clarification.
Initially, the police determined that in addition to examining and treating patients every day, the clinics also bought and sold fake documents such as social insurance leave certificates and health examination certificates to sell to employees, mainly workers in companies. In addition to buying and selling social insurance leave certificates, the clinics also created documents to receive health insurance settlement.
The case is being further investigated by the authorities.
