Traffic accident in Quang Tri, 1 dead, 4 in critical condition

Speaking to VietNamNet this morning (July 5), a leader of Khe Sanh town (Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province) said that a serious traffic accident had just occurred in the area, causing 5 casualties.

Accordingly, the incident occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on July 4 on the extended Hung Vuong road (section through block 7, Khe Sanh town).

Initial information said that at that time, Ho Van Ch. (born in 1999, residing in Huong Linh commune, Huong Hoa district) was driving a motorbike with license plate 74F1-352.85 from Khe Sanh to Huong Tan (the person accompanying him is unknown).

When reaching the above road section, this motorbike collided strongly with motorbike with license plate 74H1-351.86 (driver unknown) going in the opposite direction.

The collision caused all 5 people on the 2 motorbikes to be thrown onto the road, of which Ho Van Ch. was confirmed dead on the spot; the remaining 4 people were seriously injured including: Ho Van Th. (born 2009) and Ho Van M. (born 1987, both residing in Huong Linh commune), Ho Van T. (born 2004) and Ho Van L. (born 2008, both residing in Huong Tan commune); at the same time, 2 motorbikes were severely damaged.

A witness to the incident said that at the time, it was dark on Hung Vuong Street, visibility was limited, but both vehicles were traveling at high speed.

Upon receiving the news, the Traffic Police of Huong Hoa District Police quickly arrived at the scene and took the victims to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by Huong Hoa District Police.
