TP - On May 10, the leader of Dong Nai Department of Transport said that Dong Nai currently has two motor vehicle inspection centers that are temporarily closed due to lack of staff.
They are Dong Nai Motor Vehicle Inspection Center (Center 60-01S, in Bien Hoa City) and Dong Nai Motor Vehicle Inspection Center, Dinh Quan Branch (Center 60-03S). The Department is currently working on personnel to supplement executive staff.
Previously, on May 7, Center 60-01S announced its suspension of operations and became the second inspection center in Dong Nai to suspend operations (previously Center 60 - 03S). Center 60-01S is the largest inspection center in Dong Nai, operating 3 inspection lines with a capacity of 210 vehicles/day and capable of inspecting nearly 300 vehicles/day. The suspension of Center 60-01S has caused the remaining 4 inspection centers in Dong Nai province (including 2 facilities in Bien Hoa City, Center 60-04D, Center 60-05D, and 1 facility in Long Thanh District, Center 60-06D, and 1 facility in Long Khanh City, Center 60-02S) to suddenly increase the number of vehicles coming for inspection in recent days.
The leader of the 60-04D Motor Vehicle Inspection Center (in Tan Bien Ward, Bien Hoa City) said that after the 60-01S Center stopped operating, the number of vehicles coming to the 60-04D Center increased sharply. To avoid congestion and jostling of vehicles, from the afternoon of May 7, the unit has started issuing inspection appointment slips to drivers and vehicle owners. The Center issued 150 vehicle inspection appointment slips (90 slips in the morning, 60 slips in the afternoon) for vehicles coming for inspection the next day. The slips will clearly state the appointment date, license plate number, time (morning or afternoon) and serial number.
At Center 60-05D (Phuoc Tan Ward, Bien Hoa City), since May 7, hundreds of vehicles have been coming for inspection every day. By 9am, this unit had to stop accepting vehicles to process the number of vehicles received in the morning. Currently, the center's two production lines are operating at full capacity but can only process more than 200 vehicles per day.
The number of vehicles coming for inspection at Center 60-06D (Long Thanh District) has also increased similarly. The center's leaders said that due to a lack of personnel to operate, even if the number of vehicles coming is large, the center can only process about 70 vehicles per day.
Previously, the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Nai Province Police prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Tran Minh Loi (41 years old, Deputy Director in charge of Center 60-01S) to investigate the act of accepting bribes. Up to now, this center has 1 director, 2 deputy directors and many technical staff prosecuted. In addition, Center 60-04D and Center 60-05D also have directors, deputy directors and many staff prosecuted for the act of accepting bribes.
According to the Vietnam Register (Ministry of Transport), in Dong Nai, there will be more than 19.3 thousand vehicles due for inspection in May 2024 and more than 19.5 thousand vehicles in June 2024. From the beginning of 2024, in order to limit the risk of inspection congestion, the Vietnam Register and the Dong Nai Department of Transport have recommended that vehicle owners go for inspection early, when the number of vehicles due for inspection has not increased. Inspection can be carried out at any inspection unit, not necessarily at the locality where they live or at the previous inspection unit.
Dong Nai Department of Transport has directed vehicle inspection centers in the province to increase working hours and have reasonable plans to avoid overloading and congestion of vehicle inspection at the centers.
