A rare incident occurred at the Miss Grand International 2024 final held on the evening of October 25 in Bangkok (Thailand) when 2nd runner-up Thae Su Nyein (Myanmar) had her crown snatched and left the event in tears.

In the final night, Rachel Gupta (India) was crowned the highest position, Myanmar representative - Thae Su Nyein was named as the second runner-up. Previously, many beauty sites predicted that Thae Su Nyein could go further because she was a strong candidate. When receiving the award, the 17-year-old beauty showed sadness on her face.

The tense situation occurred when the National Director of the Miss Grand Myanmar organization suddenly removed the crown from Thae Su Nyein's head while she was giving a press interview. Immediately after that, the crew quickly took the beauty out of the auditorium.

The video recording the incident has gone viral on social media, along with images of Thae Su Nyein sobbing, shocking many beauty lovers. On her personal page, the Myanmar country director also posted a controversial status, declaring that she is "stopping playing" with the Miss Grand International contest.

Miss Grand Vietnam President Pham Kim Dung was present at the stage, witnessed this scene, then shared: "I was standing talking when I heard noise, turned around and saw it was like a 'melee' because the National Director of Myanmar was angry and called Miss Myanmar down, not on stage anymore. After that, I advised the National Director of Myanmar to calm down but he hardly paid attention to anyone at that time".
