Many large goods suppliers in the North such as BRGMart, Aeon, Central Retail, Dabaco… all said they have increased their supply of goods many times and committed not to increase prices.

Transportation is difficult, the supply of goods in the Northern region is heavily affected. However, many large units in the market affirm that they will increase supply from Da Lat and other sources, along with price stabilization.
Supermarkets call on customers to buy enough, no need to hoard goods
Ms. Tran Thu Quynh - purchasing director of the Northern and Central regions, AEON Vietnam - said that supermarkets and shopping malls in the Northern region recorded a sharp increase in customer purchasing power compared to normal days.
To meet the sudden demand, AEON in the North has increased the quantity of goods ordered from suppliers 2-3 times higher than usual.
However in the short term, storm no. 3 causing local impacts on suppliers, especially for fresh produce.
"For vegetables and fruits, heavy rains cause crops to be crushed and flooded. For products caught at sea, rough seas make it difficult to fish offshore," said Ms. Quynh.
However, AEON Vietnam continues to work with suppliers, still transporting vegetables from Da Lat to the North to meet consumer demand, ensuring adequate supply of goods to serve the people.
Therefore, AEON representatives call on customers to rest assured to buy enough according to their needs, without needing to hoard or buy goods in bulk.
"We always have spare supplies in case of emergency," Ms. Quynh affirmed, prices remain stable.
Regarding stockpiling goods, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien - Deputy General Director of BRGMart - affirmed that "there will be no shortage of goods".
The system has placed orders to increase the stock of essential goods by 30% compared to normal. The prices of goods have also not fluctuated.
In many places, people are fleeing floods, and prices are even lower.
Mr. Nguyen Nhu So - Chairman of Dabaco Group - said that they are trying to supply essential foods to the market as quickly as possible to join hands in fighting floods with the people in the North, although transportation is very difficult.
"Many places are flooded, farmers and growers have to sell their livestock and crops to reduce losses. Therefore, prices have decreased in many places. In addition, businesses also share with people so they decided not to increase prices, even reduce prices to support...", Mr. So said.
Representatives of Central Retail Vietnam - the operator of the GO! system, BigC has increased the supply of all kinds of vegetables and fruits by 100% compared to normal days.
In addition, since last weekend, Central Retail Vietnam has prepared additional shipments of goods to the North. Accordingly, the average shipment from Da Lat to the Central and North is 40 tons/trip, now increasing to 75 - 80 tons/trip.
"The prices remain the same as before the storm. We did not increase the selling price because we had prepared the goods in advance with our partners in the country. Da Lat", representative of Central Retail Vietnam affirmed.
MM Mega Market representative also said that up to now there is no problem with supply, forecasting that the supply of most items will be stable in the next 1-2 weeks, especially the source of Da Lat vegetables is still being increased regularly.
However, the transportation of goods to end consumers is likely to be affected. "We cannot use motorbike delivery, instead we use trucks. Therefore, the delivery will take longer, in addition, the traffic disruption will also cause certain difficulties," said a representative of MM Mega Market.
