Diamond Princess super cruise ship takes tourists on a tour of Hue

The super cruise ship Diamond Princess docked at Chan May port and 300 international guests disembarked to visit the Imperial City and other relics in Hue City.

On December 10, the Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism coordinated with the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to welcome 300 guests from the Diamond Princess cruise ship to visit the Hue Imperial City after the ship docked at Chan May port.

The group visited the Hue Imperial Palace, listened to royal court music and visited the tombs of the Nguyen Dynasty kings according to the Hue ancient capital tour program organized by the travel company. After the tour, the group returned to the cruise ship and left Chan May port after 12 hours of docking.

Diamond Princess is one of the world's famous 5-star cruise ships, with luxurious experiences. The ship is owned and operated by Princess Cruises, with a capacity of more than 2,800 guests, and has been voted the best international cruise ship in the world many times.

In 2023, Chan May Port has 24 registered cruise ships, bringing about 23,000 international tourists to Thua Thien Hue. According to the plan, by the end of this year, Chan May Port will welcome 6 more international cruise ships, including 2 Diamond Princess ships, each ship will transport 2,800 passengers and more than 1,000 crew members.

In the first 11 months of 2023, the number of visitors to Hue is estimated at nearly 2.8 million, an increase of nearly 50% over the same period last year, of which international visitors reached more than 942,000, an increase of 370% over the same period. Tourism revenue is estimated at VND 6,088 billion, an increase of more than 49% over the same period.
