The section from Km160+350 through Huoi Chan village, Muong Pon commune ( Dien Bien district) to Pung Giat village, Muong Muon commune (Muong Cha district) is about 10km long, with many landslides and rocks appearing. Currently, at many points on National Highway 12 , rocks and soil are still falling, making it impossible for machinery to reach the scene to carry out the excavation and leveling of rocks and soil to clear the route.

After the landslide occurred, Dien Bien Road 2 Joint Stock Company mobilized human resources, machinery and equipment and mobilized local forces to stretch ropes, put up warning signs, and maintain traffic checkpoints to ensure traffic safety and guide people on the route. When safety is assured and no more soil and rocks continue to fall, the unit will mobilize forces to urgently clear and level the collapsed and landslide areas... to ensure people can travel smoothly.
* According to Mr. Tran Quang Huy, Deputy Director of Road Joint Stock Company 226, this morning (September 25), at Km49+050, National Highway 279, through Na Tau commune (Dien Bien Phu city), a landslide occurred.

The volume of soil from the positive slope that collapsed and spilled onto the road is estimated at more than 1,000m3 , covering the road and also affecting some households living along the road. Because this is a vital traffic route, when the soil spilled down, vehicles could not pass through the landslide.
Immediately after the incident, authorities were present at the scene to warn and ensure traffic. Currently, Road Joint Stock Company 226 has mobilized 1 excavator and 2 trucks to the scene to fix the problem. It is expected that this morning, the landslide will be temporarily fixed to clear the road for vehicles to pass.
