Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said that the 2023-2024 school year is of special importance in the educational innovation roadmap, especially the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program. Currently, the General Education Program has been implemented synchronously across the country, at all levels of education and has gone more than half way.

According to Minister Nguyen Kim Son, continuing this roadmap, in the 2023-2024 school year, the amount of work the industry needs to do will be very large, including: Learning from experience and continuing to implement the 2018 General Education Program with the implemented classes; implementing new classes with grades 4, 8, 11 and preparing conditions for the 3 final classes.

In particular, preparing textbooks for the final grade requires even more work. The scope of innovation is wide, the amount of work is large, and the importance is great. The 2023-2024 school year requires attention and high concentration to complete the work, creating momentum to complete the roadmap for general education innovation.

According to Minister Nguyen Kim Son, not only will the new program be implemented on a large scale, covering 3 levels of education, this school year, innovation activities need to go into depth, in each educational content, each subject, and each activity. Along with that, there is a need to prepare more teaching conditions, teachers need to be further supported in methods, skills, etc. to ensure that innovation can be in-depth and the quality of innovation can be enhanced.

In addition, the 2023-2024 school year is the year of implementing many tasks to perfect the institution, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of State management of education. The education sector continues to institutionalize the viewpoints and policies of the Party and State on education and training development and improve the effectiveness of implementation.

Review, revise and supplement the system of legal documents; pay attention to practical issues that arise and need to be adjusted to remove difficulties and obstacles; create favorable mechanisms and policies for the development of education and training.

Regarding this content, we can mention important tasks such as summarizing 10 years of implementing Resolution 29/NQ-TW on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training - reviewing the 10-year innovation journey, assessing the current situation and results achieved, thereby proposing major central-level guidelines for the next innovation journey.

At the same time, the Ministry of Education and Training is preparing to draft the Law on Teachers to submit to the National Assembly in 2024; reviewing to amend and supplement the Law on Higher Education and related sub-law documents...

The 2023-2024 school year is also important for preschool education when piloting the new preschool education program.
