On the evening of February 14, at the stage in front of the City Theater, the Organizing Committee for the celebration of major holidays in Ho Chi Minh City organized the dramatization program "Forever the heroic spirit of the red flag", practically commemorating the 235th anniversary of the historic Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da victory (1789 - 2024).

Every year, on the 5th day of the Lunar New Year, Vietnamese people across the country eagerly and proudly attend the Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da Victory Festival, one of the heroic pages of our nation's history of fighting foreign invaders, under the leadership of the cloth hero, Emperor Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue.
Nguyen Hue was born in the year of Quy Dau (1752), from a farmer with a patriotic heart Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue became a great national hero, a military genius, a famous general who won a hundred battles, a hundred victories. The victory of Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da is a typical military victory, demonstrating the military talent of Emperor Quang Trung of the Tay Son Dynasty. It is a testament to the tradition of bravery, not retreating before any invading forces, the fighting spirit and victory in the cause of building and defending the country of our ancestors, continuing through many generations of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
In his speech at the ceremony, comrade Tran Kim Yen, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized: “The Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da victory marked a brilliant milestone in the history of the nation, created by the uprising strength of the farmers with muddy hands and feet along with the will for independence and self-determination of the whole nation, proving the outstanding and unique military genius of Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue, at the same time reflecting the new level of development of the war to save the country and the military art of Vietnam, is the pride of our nation in the cause of building and defending the country...”
The dramatization program "Forever the heroic spirit of the red flag" was performed by the City Light Music Center; art direction: People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy; director: People's Artist Huu Quoc - Duong Thao. The program was staged into many chapters: Tay Son drums, Calling the country, Thang Long spring victory, Land of ten thousand springs.
