With the meaning and importance of child care and nurturing, in the 2024-2025 school year, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training organized a competition for excellent preschool caregivers in Hanoi.
The contest is an opportunity for caregivers to demonstrate their talents, providing children with many delicious meals with a rich, nutritious menu, ensuring food safety and hygiene and suitable for each age; improving the quality of care and nutrition for children in schools.
The contest also aims to honor excellent caregivers and promote advanced models, contributing to attracting the attention of social forces to participate in scientific child care and education; motivating caregivers to strive, meet the requirements of innovation, and improve the quality of preschool child care and education.
Each pair of caregivers competes in 3 categories: creating a menu; preparing 10 meals a day for children at school at a cost of 25,000 VND/child/day; presenting the menu, measuring portions, and dishes for children according to the contest products.
In preparation for the city competition, 100% of schools in the city have recently organized a competition for excellent caregivers at the grassroots level. There were more than 7,800 employees participating in the competition out of a total of 10,508 caregivers at all levels, reaching a rate of 74.3%. Of these, 1,739 employees were selected to compete at the district, town and city levels.
In his opening speech, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong emphasized that preschool education is the first level in the national education system, laying the foundation for the comprehensive development of Vietnamese people.
In preschools, nurturing, caring for and educating children are two parallel tasks, which are very important in contributing to creating a solid foundation for children's future development.
Preschool children are in the period of physical and intellectual formation and development, so the nutritional regime for children in preschools is always the top concern of parents, managers, teachers and school staff.
As one of the 140 contestants, Mr. Bui Duc Binh, a culinary technician at Kindergarten B - who has 35 years of experience in the profession, shared: "The contest is a useful playground, a valuable opportunity for us to demonstrate our skills and knowledge about nutrition, food hygiene and safety as well as creative ways to prepare and decorate dishes for preschool children."
According to the organizers, the contest will take place on September 28 and 29, 2024.
