On August 20, Vietnam Television announced that the Asia-Pacific Robot Competition with the theme “Harvest Day” will be held in Quang Ninh from August 23 to 27 with the participation of 13 excellent teams from 12 countries and territories. On this occasion, Vietnam Television will have a live television program lasting 6 consecutive hours.
The Asia-Pacific Robot Contest is organized by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Association for students with a passion for robotics from countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2024, Vietnam will host the contest and have 2 teams from Hung Yen University of Technical Education participating.
The organizers said that with the theme “Harvest Day”, the competition aims to honor the value of agriculture, especially rice cultivation on terraced fields, a characteristic of Vietnamese culture. Participating robots will perform tasks simulating the rice growing process, from sowing to harvesting.
The event is not only a competition, but also an opportunity for young people to exchange, learn and share experiences. In addition to the official matches, the organizers will organize many attractive sideline activities such as exchanging and sharing knowledge of programming control, building robots, and tours of the natural heritage of Ha Long Bay.
The entire competition at the Quang Ninh Provincial Sports Complex on August 25 will be broadcast live on VTV2 Channel of Vietnam Television and livestreamed on the social network platform Facebook VTV2 Quality of Life.
According to Ms. Le Hai Anh, Acting Head of the Science and Education Department, Vietnam Television - the unit that produces television content, the Science and Education Department has completed the script and fully prepared a team of reporters and editors to produce a live television program lasting 6 consecutive hours.
To prepare for the continuous and long live broadcast, the crew has calculated the reportage materials about the 13 teams participating in the competition, the content will be interwoven between the matches. The program is guaranteed to be continuous and attractive with modern dance performances. Along with that, VTV's young and dynamic MC team such as Tran Ngoc, Khanh Vy, Phi Linh, Hong Phuc will be the bridge between the audience and the team. The crew applied augmented reality technology (Augmented Reality - AR). This is a technology that combines virtual elements into the real environment on the competition field, creating a new and interactive experience for the television audience.
