High intensity training
Arriving at the Mechanized Reconnaissance Company of the General Staff Department (Provincial Military Command) in early April, we felt the vibrant atmosphere of the training season.
In one position, soldiers were engrossed in practicing shooting exercises on the BTR-152 armored vehicle. After the commander's decisive command, each crew quickly got into combat position. Amidst the roar of the vehicle's engine, the gunners focused on observing, detecting targets and destroying them according to the mission.
The solidarity and close coordination of the crew members reflected the spirit of overcoming the sun and rain, and the enthusiasm for training of the officers and soldiers. During the training process, the unit commander stayed close to the training ground to promptly guide and correct each soldier and each crew.
In another location, a group of soldiers are actively practicing martial arts. Officers and soldiers in the unit are trained from basic to advanced, from advanced to specialized. Once they have mastered individual movements, they will organize combat training.
Considered the “iron fist” of the provincial armed forces, the Mechanized Reconnaissance Company is assigned many very important tasks, including the task of protecting important targets of the province when ordered. Therefore, the training and practice process for the reconnaissance soldiers is serious and arduous.
According to Captain Pham Minh Duc, Political Commissar of the Mechanized Reconnaissance Company, the weather in recent days has been unstable and the training intensity is high, but the entire unit is very active. Each training session and each real-life situation helps officers and soldiers become more proficient and flexible in combat situations.
"The unit combines training with discipline training, maintains strict training according to the plan approved by superiors, ensures practical training, practical learning and practical testing and evaluation of results," Captain Pham Minh Duc shared.
Battalion 2, Infantry Regiment 125 under the Provincial Military Command has just organized a live-fire test on target number 4 (lying down) for new soldiers. According to the unit commander's assessment, during the shooting practice, the new soldiers practiced the correct movements as trained, calmly and confidently performed the shooting exercise. As a result, many soldiers achieved good scores, the unit ensured absolute safety in all aspects.
Private Lam Duc Hau, a soldier in squad 7, platoon 7, company 2, from Hung Yen city, is one of two soldiers with excellent results when he achieved 30/30 points in the live-fire practice session. He shared: "Thanks to active practice and regular reminders and adjustments from the training staff, I achieved high results in this practice session. This is the motivation for me and my teammates to try harder in the next shooting tests."
Compete to complete tasks excellently
The training atmosphere in the communes and towns in the province was also very bustling. At the training ground for the militia in Hai Tan ward (Hai Duong city), although it was late afternoon, the "square star" soldiers were still practicing. From afar, we heard the clear, decisive shouts of the training officers.
According to Commander of the Hai Duong City Military Command Nguyen Dinh Hoang, in addition to ensuring the quantity, the Hai Duong City Military Command pays special attention to improving the training quality of the militia and self-defense force, identifying this as a breakthrough in building this force. Therefore, before entering the training, the City Military Command opened a training course for comrades who are commanders, political commissars of the Military Command of communes and wards, and those in charge of self-defense units. The training process focuses on unifying the content and training methods of some difficult and basic contents such as troop regulations, tactics, and infantry combat techniques.
According to the Provincial Military Command, up to now, districts, towns and cities have basically completed training for the first year of militia and self-defense forces, ensuring 100% participation.
Sharing the same spirit with the entire army, officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces enthusiastically competed to achieve high results in training in 2025 with the spirit of "good training, strict discipline". The 2025 training season associated with the peak competition period with the theme "Lightning Speed - Determined to Win" brought new spirit and high determination for officers and soldiers to excellently complete assigned tasks.
“Lightning Speed - Determined Victory” is a peak emulation campaign launched by the Hai Duong Provincial Military Command from March 1 to May 19 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).
In this emulation period, agencies and units will focus on implementing a number of important targets such as 100% of training test results meeting requirements, of which 80% or more of the regular force is good or excellent; 70% or more of the militia and reserve forces are good or excellent; 100% of training officers according to decentralization, of which 75% or more are good or excellent.
