On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Vietnamese animation industry, from November 8 to 30, the Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA) hosted the Sconnect International Animation Academy (SAMA) and the Vietnam Digital Content Creation Alliance (DCCA), in collaboration with the French Embassy, ​​to organize the first Stream of Aspiration Animation Film Festival. The film festival is organized to connect generations of artists, honor contributions to the development of the animation industry, and spread and connect values ​​in the community.

Vietnamese animation has gone through 65 years of formation and development (1959 - 2024) with many significant changes, marking its maturity and constant creativity. From the early days when animation was still a new field, until now, Vietnamese animation has witnessed the birth of many talented animation studios, quality animation products not only conquering the domestic market but also reaching out to the world .

The first Aspiration Stream Animation Festival was held under the theme “Vietnam Animation Stream”. With about 20 events held in November, generations will learn about the cradle of the country’s “8th” art form. This is also an opportunity for organizations and individuals working in the field of contemporary art to share and spread the motivation to develop strongly together, and a place for veteran artists to pass on their passion to many generations.

The film festival will take place from November 8 to November 30 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with about 20 events and activities within the framework of the program. The main event series will be held from November 22 to November 24 at the Vincom Center for Contemporary Arts - Vincom Royal City, Hanoi with many attractive and diverse activities. Specifically:

The Ceremony to Celebrate 65 Years of Vietnamese Animation will take place on November 22 at the Vincom Center for Contemporary Arts. The ceremony will introduce and display works with strong Vietnamese characteristics from prominent artists, and introduce new works produced using a variety of techniques (2D, 3D, Frame by Frame, Stop-motion, etc.).

On November 23, there will be 02 seminars with the topics "Exploiting the potential of the Vietnamese animation industry market from domestic to global" and "Animation art in the digital age" with speakers from state management agencies, experts, and artists with many years of experience.

The Project Market and Tour to explore the flow of Vietnamese animation will be held from November 22-24. This is where production units and independent filmmakers can introduce and exchange production ideas, and businesses outside the industry can connect with animation service providers using many production technologies. In addition, students will learn about the history of development and achievements of Vietnamese animation through the ages, and from there have an open view of the future development of the industry.

The free animated film screening program to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Vietnamese animation industry will take place from November 15 to November 30 at major cinema systems in Hanoi. Audiences will enjoy a feast of animated films, including excellent films, from award-winning works and films by young producers from: Vietnam Animation Studio, Sconnect Vietnam, Alpha Studio and typical French animated films provided by the French Embassy.

The event also included the launching ceremony of two enterprises, Sconnect Music and Sconnect Studio, and the announcement of three animated film production projects for theatrical release “Make in Vietnam”, titled: “The Legend of the Taurus”, “Wolfoo and the Race of the Three Realms” and “Blank Blank Ceramic Warrior” on the evening of November 24.

The Organizing Committee will produce a publication called the 65th Anniversary of Vietnamese Animation. The book introduces the flow of Vietnamese animation history in a comprehensive and profound way. The 65th Anniversary of Vietnamese Animation is also a tribute to generations of animation artists - the silent people behind the success of each work and introduces the new generation of artists in the new era.

A notable activity within the framework of the Film Festival is the Timeless Animation Award. The award is held to honor outstanding talents and seek and explore new potential in the field of animation. The award includes 3 categories: Script, animated character, animated film, each category will award 2 awards. In particular, at the final round taking place on November 24, the authors will have the opportunity to present before the Jury consisting of prestigious artists, experts in the Vietnamese animation and film industry, and businessmen with over 15 years of experience in the field of commercialization of animation products and services.

In addition, Sconnect International Animation Academy (SAMA) also organized a series of sideline activities of the Film Festival such as: Organizing internships and experiences for Animation Production Team; Signing ceremony of cooperation between Gobelins and SAMA; Opening ceremony of the school year to welcome the elite generation and launching published books on animation scripts.
