On the afternoon of February 18, the National Assembly conducted the process of electing Mr. Phan Van Mai as a member of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly.
This resolution was passed with 446 delegates in favor (93.31% of the total number of National Assembly delegates).
The National Assembly then also elected the Chairmen of the post-merger Committees, with the approval rate of this resolution being 93.51% of the total number of National Assembly deputies.
6 new Chairmen of the National Assembly Committees were just elected at the 9th extraordinary session (Graphic photo: Tuan Huy).
The National Assembly Resolution states the results of the election of the Chairmen of the Committees as follows:
1. Mr. Hoang Thanh Tung, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Law Committee, was elected Chairman of the Law and Justice Committee, after merging the Law Committee and the Justice Committee.
Mr. Hoang Thanh Tung was born in 1966, from Nghe An, has a Master's degree in Law. He is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee and a National Assembly delegate for 3 terms (13th, 14th, 15th).
2. Mr. Phan Van Mai, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, was elected as member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee.
The Economic and Financial Committee was established on the basis of merging the Economic Committee and the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly.
Mr. Phan Van Mai was born in 1973, from Ben Tre, has a Master's degree in Economic Management, a Bachelor's degree in English. He is a member of the Party Central Committee for two terms (XII, XIII) and a delegate to the XV National Assembly.
3. Mr. Le Tan Toi, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Defense and Security Committee, was elected Chairman of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee. This Committee was established after taking over some additional tasks of the Foreign Affairs Committee (now inactive).
Mr. Le Tan Toi was born in 1969, from Ca Mau province, is a Doctor of Criminology and criminal investigation.
He is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee and a National Assembly delegate for two terms (XIV and XV).
4. Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Education, was elected Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Society. This agency was established after merging the Committee on Culture and Education with the Committee on Society.
Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh was born in 1972, from Nghe An, is an Associate Professor, Doctor of Chemistry.
He was a member of the Party Central Committee for three terms (XI - alternate, XII, XIII), and a National Assembly delegate for three terms (XIII, XIV, XV).
5. Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee, was elected as Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee, after the Delegation Affairs Committee (under the National Assembly Standing Committee) was upgraded and renamed the Delegation Affairs Committee of the National Assembly.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai was born in 1970, from Hanoi. She is an Associate Professor, Doctor of Physics, member of the Party Central Committee, terms XII and XIII, and a National Assembly Delegate, terms XIII, XIV and XV.
6. Mr. Duong Thanh Binh, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the People's Aspirations Committee, was elected as Chairman of the People's Aspirations and Supervision Committee, after the People's Aspirations Committee (under the National Assembly Standing Committee) was upgraded and renamed the People's Aspirations and Supervision Committee of the National Assembly.
Mr. Duong Thanh Binh was born in 1961, from Ca Mau, has a bachelor's degree in Economics.
He was a member of the Party Central Committee for three terms (XI, XII, XIII) and a National Assembly delegate for three terms (XIII, XIV, XV).
After the reorganization, the National Assembly Standing Committee for the 2021-2026 term has 19 members, including National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and 6 National Assembly Vice Chairmen: Nguyen Duc Hai, Nguyen Khac Dinh, Tran Quang Phuong, Nguyen Thi Thanh, Vu Hong Thanh and Le Minh Hoan.
The members include: Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee Vu Hai Ha; General Secretary and Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung; Chairman of the Law and Justice Committee Hoang Thanh Tung; Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee Phan Van Mai; Chairman of the Cultural and Social Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh; Chairman of the Delegation Work Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai; Chairman of the People's Aspirations and Supervision Committee Duong Thanh Binh; Chairman of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee Le Tan Toi; Chairman of the Science, Technology and Environment Committee Le Quang Huy; Chairman of the Ethnic Council Y Thanh Ha Nie K'dam; Permanent Deputy Chairman of the People's Aspirations and Supervision Committee Le Thi Nga; Permanent Deputy Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee Le Quang Manh.
