Quang Nam asks police to investigate the sale of fake Ngoc Linh ginseng

On October 2, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu signed a document to send to departments, branches, sectors, and Nam Tra My District People's Committee on strengthening the management of Ngoc Linh ginseng quality in the province.

Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee said that currently, on social networking platforms, the advertising and sale of fake Ngoc Linh ginseng products of unknown origin are becoming more complicated.

This affects the production and business activities of genuine producers, especially causing consumers to be confused about the quality and value of Ngoc Linh ginseng because they cannot distinguish between real and fake ginseng.

To rectify the above situation and at the same time strengthen the management of Ngoc Linh ginseng production and business, the Provincial People's Committee requests relevant departments, branches, units and localities to strengthen the management of Ngoc Linh ginseng quality in the area.

In the immediate future, it is necessary to focus on preventing the advertising and sale of fake Ngoc Linh ginseng products on social networks and strengthening the inspection of the origin of Ngoc Linh ginseng roots.

Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Industry and Trade and the Provincial Market Management Department to direct their subordinate units to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to organize peak periods to strengthen inspection and supervision of the business and sale of Ngoc Linh ginseng products in the province to ensure clear origin, provenance and quality. Promptly handle acts of commercial fraud, buying and selling of counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, goods of unknown origin, etc.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development organizes inspections of organizations and individuals engaged in the production and supply of Ngoc Linh ginseng seeds in the province; prevents and handles cases of trading in seeds and seedlings of unknown origin.

The Department of Planning and Investment inspects and handles enterprises that violate the law according to the provisions of the Enterprise Law, and revokes business registration certificates for units that violate the law in the field of production and trading of products originating from Ngoc Linh ginseng in the province.

Quang Nam province also requested the provincial police to strengthen on-site reconnaissance work, promptly detect acts of buying, selling, exchanging, and trading fake Ngoc Linh ginseng; establish investigation projects for the lines, locations of production, trading, and transportation of fake ginseng products.
