International conference on Ngoc Linh ginseng is expected to take place in Quang Nam on August 1.

The workshop is a key professional event in the 2025 Quang Nam Ngoc Linh Ginseng (International Ginseng) Festival. The workshop is scheduled to be held on August 1, 2025 in Tam Ky City.

This is the first time Quang Nam province has coordinated with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to organize a large-scale conference on medicinal herbs.

Many domestic and international experts and scientists are expected to attend, with about 25 scientific reports focusing on the following topics: Conservation and propagation of Ngoc Linh ginseng; development of organic growing areas; application of high technology in production, processing and consumption of ginseng products...

In particular, the workshop had the participation of professors from Korea and countries with the most developed ginseng industries, thereby sharing experiences in building national brands for precious ginseng products.

Within the framework of the event, the Provincial People's Committee will sign a cooperation agreement on research, application of science and technology to develop Ngoc Linh ginseng and medicinal herbs with the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

Currently, Quang Nam province has more than 1,300 hectares of Ngoc Linh ginseng, mainly in Nam Tra My district and surrounding areas. Ngoc Linh ginseng products have been registered for geographical indications and are considered one of the world's leading rare medicinal herbs, with high economic value.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu affirmed that the scientific workshop "Conservation and development of Ngoc Linh ginseng, medicinal herbs of Quang Nam province" is an important event, both strategically important in science and contributing to affirming the position of Ngoc Linh ginseng in the international arena.

Mr. Buu requested relevant departments, branches and localities to promote the highest sense of responsibility, proactively coordinate, carefully prepare content and logistics, and ensure the conference is organized solemnly, professionally and effectively.

“Through the workshop, Quang Nam hopes to attract scientific intelligence, connect businesses, expand the market, and gradually realize the goal of building Quang Nam province into a national medicinal center by 2030,” Mr. Buu emphasized.
