(People's life) - Many livelihood models have been effective for people in the basins of hydroelectric reservoirs such as: Model of supporting food and seedlings for people to plant forests to replace slash-and-burn cultivation; model of planting Do trees for seeds; model of releasing fish fry on hydroelectric reservoirs of A Vuong, Song Tranh 2, Dak Mi 4, Song Bung 2, etc.
The program aims to mobilize all resources to support and create conditions for livelihood development for people in the basins of hydroelectric reservoirs, contributing to the successful implementation of the goal of sustainable poverty reduction in the area.

Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee has just held a conference to review 1 year of implementing the Livelihood Program for people in the basins of hydroelectric reservoirs in the province until 2025.

According to statistics, in Quang Nam province, there are 40 hydropower projects with a total designed capacity of 1,775 MW, the average annual designed electricity output is 6,183 million kWh. Currently, there are 28 plants in operation; 7 projects are under construction; 5 projects are carrying out investment procedures to start construction.

In order to ensure the livelihood of people in the basin of hydroelectric reservoirs, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province has issued a Livelihood Program for people in the basin of hydroelectric reservoirs in the province until 2025. During the implementation process, the Program has created consensus and unity in the political system, organizations, individuals and people in developing people's livelihoods in the basin of hydroelectric reservoirs, contributing to the good implementation of national target programs in the province.

Accordingly, some owners and management units of hydropower projects have proactively taken the lead and coordinated with localities to implement livelihood models for people. Among them, there are many effective models, such as: The model of supporting food and seedlings for people to plant forests to replace slash-and-burn cultivation in the Nuoc Bieu hydropower area (Nam Tra My); the model of planting Doi trees for seeds in Lao Mung village, Phuoc Xuan commune (Phuoc Son) or the model of releasing fish fry in the hydropower reservoirs of A Vuong, Song Tranh 2, Dak Mi 4, Song Bung 2, Song Bung 4, etc.

According to the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, the Livelihood Program for people in the basins of hydroelectric reservoirs in the province until 2025 aims to mobilize all resources to support and create conditions for the development of livelihoods for people in the basins of hydroelectric reservoirs, contributing to the successful implementation of the goal of sustainable poverty reduction in the province.

At the same time, along with hydropower development, combining various types and models of economic development, calling for investment to create momentum for socio-economic development in mountainous areas, creating jobs, ensuring long-term livelihoods for people.

The province strives that by 2023, each district with a hydroelectric reservoir will complete at least 1 livelihood development model/hydropower with a hydroelectric reservoir for people in the reservoir basin in the province (in case the district has 2 hydroelectric plants, there will be at least 2 livelihood models).

By 2024, each district with a hydropower reservoir will complete at least 2 livelihood development models/hydropower with a hydropower reservoir for people in the reservoir basin in the province (in case the district has 2 hydropower plants, there will be at least 4 livelihood models).

By 2025, the province strives for all districts with hydroelectric reservoirs to have sustainable livelihood models for people.
