It is thought that Gen Z often 'turns on' their parents, but it is different for young singer Bui Huyen Trang. The champion of The Voice of Hanoi said that all her success up to now is thanks to 'being very obedient to her mother'.

Winning first prize (chamber music category) in the Hanoi Voice Contest organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports since the end of November 2024, but on the afternoon of January 18, Bui Huyen Trang had the opportunity to debut to the press in Hanoi with her first music product: MV Co Gai Ha Noi.
Great lessons from a mother in the countryside
Bui Huyen Trang chose a very young crew to make her MV (director Kai Nguyen Hai and cameraman Le Quang) and not someone who was already famous. The reason, the singer confessed, was because she didn't have much money.

Trang is currently a senior student at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. Originally a girl from the rice fields of Thai Binh, Bui Huyen Trang went to Hanoi to study to fulfill her dream of becoming a professional singer, and also that of her mother who was from a poor rural area and could not afford to fulfill her dream.
During the MV launch, Bui Huyen Trang continuously wiped away tears at the words of encouragement and praise from her teachers, especially singer Lan Anh - who has guided Huyen Trang for the past 7 years.
And she could not hide her emotions when thanking her mother, who worked hard to earn enough money for Trang to study singing from her hometown Thai Binh to the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
Huyen Trang said that all the success she has had in studying and competing up to today is because she listened to her mother's teachings.
As a young girl from the countryside who came to Hanoi to study, Bui Huyen Trang had to face many temptations of money. But at those times, her mother's teachings kept her.
Mother told her daughter to be self-reliant, to rise up with her own strength, only with strength can we stand up no matter where we are placed.
And Bui Huyen Trang did exactly as her mother told her, she studied hard without being negligent at all, and worked hard without stopping.
Musician Ngoc Khue (author of Spring in the Rice and Flower Villages) also highly appreciated Bui Huyen Trang's singing voice - Photo: T.DIEU
Musician Ngoc Khue - author of the song Spring in the Rice Village, and lyricist for the song Hanoi Girl that Bui Huyen Trang chose to make her MV this time - also highly appreciated Bui Huyen Trang's singing voice.
He said that Bui Huyen Trang's beautiful, high, clear, graceful voice successfully expressed the spirit of the song he helped write about the extraordinary girls of Hanoi, Vietnamese girls during the years when Hanoi was immersed in the war in the early 1970s.
Regarding the reason for choosing Hanoi Girl as her first MV, Bui Huyen Trang said that the first product she wanted to produce had to be the chamber music genre she pursued, not the popular music genre now.
