At the Google I/O 2023 event, the search giant introduced its first foldable smartphone called Pixel Fold.
In terms of appearance, the Pixel Fold has a folding design similar to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold4. However, compared to the Galaxy Z Fold4, the Pixel Fold has an overall larger width but shorter length. The main screen of the device is 7.6 inches in size, using an OLED panel with a resolution of 2,208 x 1,840 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
When folded, the size of the outer screen of the device has a more balanced ratio of 5.8 inches, using an OLED panel with a resolution of 2,092 x 1,080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz. According to The Verge, both screens of the Pixel Fold have good display quality with high brightness.

The downside is that the Pixel Fold's screen bezel is quite thick. Android Authority rates the Pixel Fold's hinge as having good build quality and being sturdy. The device can be folded without revealing any gaps. According to Google, the Pixel Fold can withstand up to 200,000 folds and opens.
The search giant equips the Pixel Fold with a Tensor 2 processor, 12 GB of RAM with 256/512 GB of internal memory options. The device has a 4,800 mAh battery, supporting 30 W fast charging technology.
Pixel Fold has up to 5 cameras, including: 2 selfie cameras both with 8.3 MP resolution, located on the outer screen and the inner screen; the rear camera cluster includes a 48 MP main camera, a 10.8 MP super wide-angle camera and a 10.8 MP telephoto camera supporting 5x optical zoom.
Google developed a Tabletop mode specifically for the Pixel Fold so users can take advantage of the camera cluster when placing the phone on a table. In addition, the device also has a selfie mode to take selfies with the external camera.
Meanwhile, Google Translate will provide live translation between two people and use two screens to display the translation. Google's introductory video for the Pixel Fold shows that the new YouTube interface will change when the screen is folded 90 degrees, with the controls on the bottom screen while the video is displayed on the top screen.
The fingerprint sensor on the Pixel Fold is integrated into the power button. The device supports 2 SIMs including one physical SIM and one eSIM, and comes pre-installed with Android 13 operating system.
The Pixel Fold starts at $1,799.
At the event, Google also introduced other products such as the Pixel 7a phone and Pixel Tablet.
