Cat Dai Ward, Le Chan District, carries out a peak period of propaganda and mobilization of people to classify solid waste at source.
(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of August 19, Cat Dai ward, Le Chan district held a conference to deploy a plan to carry out a peak period of propaganda and mobilization of people to classify solid waste at source to agencies, units, schools, religious and belief establishments and residential groups in the area.
Through the Conference, we aim to raise awareness and sense of responsibility of organizations, households and individuals in classifying domestic solid waste at source; build and form habits and self-awareness in classifying domestic solid waste at source for each citizen; increase reuse and recycling of waste and discarded products, maximize value, extend the life cycle of products and materials; encourage agencies, organizations, communities, households and individuals to participate in the program of recycling and treating waste of organizations and individuals producing and importing according to regulations; minimize the amount of waste to be treated; thereby using resources economically and effectively, minimizing environmental pollution.
Accordingly, the ward established 6 working groups in 6 residential groups headed by leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Heads of the ward's mass organizations. The working group coordinated with officers of Hai Phong Urban Environment Company Limited to visit each household to propagate and guide waste classification to 100% of households, organizations, agencies, units, religious and belief establishments in the ward, distribute notices of the ward People's Committee and sign commitments to classify waste at source. Implementation period is from August 19 to August 30, 2024.
At the conference, officials of Hai Phong Urban Environment Company Limited disseminated information about classifying household waste at source to representatives of agencies, units, schools, religious establishments and residential groups in the area.
On this occasion, Cat Dai Ward People's Committee presented 30 trash bins to disadvantaged households in the area, encouraging people to continue to classify household waste at source, contributing to environmental protection.
