Women in the capital share, accompany, and support in overcoming the consequences of storms and floods

On September 14, a working delegation led by President of the Hanoi Women's Union Le Kim Anh visited and encouraged female cadres and members in Quoc Oai district.

In Can Huu commune, the working group presented necessities including milk, rice, water, and instant noodles to people in Ben Voi village (an isolated village with 57 households currently staying at Can Huu commune Kindergarten).

In Muon village, Tuyet Nghia commune, the working group visited and presented gifts including rice, milk, instant noodles, and water to women's union members. Muon village currently has 181 flooded households, of which 171 households have women's union members.

On the same afternoon, Chairwoman of the City Women's Union Le Kim Anh visited and presented gifts of rice, necessities, etc. to female migrant workers in Phuc Xa ward, Ba Dinh district.

On behalf of the City Women's Union, Chairwoman of the City Women's Union Le Kim Anh visited the living conditions of female cadres, members and people. Sharing the difficulties and hardships of the past days with the localities, the Chairwoman encouraged the women to make efforts to overcome difficulties and join hands with the Party Committee and local authorities to overcome the consequences of the floods caused by storm No. 3.

With the support of the Ho Chi Minh City Construction and Building Materials Association, the Hanoi Small and Medium Enterprise Women's Association presented 200 gifts to Quoc Oai district; and 100 gifts to women in Phuc Xa ward, Ba Dinh district, with a total value of 170 million VND.

Also on September 14, the City Women's Union and the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises visited and presented gifts to 300 households in communes still being flooded in Chuong My district, with a total value of 100 million VND.

Statistics show that, by September 14, 2024, all levels of the Women's Union had supported the recovery of the consequences of storm No. 3 with an amount of over 1.7 billion VND, of which: The City Union supported and mobilized social resources to donate with a budget of 547 million VND; 100% of the District/County Women's Union and the grassroots coordinated to visit and support over 1.1 billion VND.

At the same time, the Women's Union at all levels also actively and urgently participated in overcoming the consequences of the storm with specific activities: launching a general environmental cleaning campaign; clearing fallen trees, supporting people from high-rise buildings, old apartment buildings, and families along the dike to return to safety; arranging food and accommodation for members' families whose houses collapsed after the storm; supporting logistics for the task force on duty to overcome the consequences of the storm...
