Phu Hai is a key locality of Phu Vang district in terms of sea fishing. Currently, the total number of sea fishing vessels is 224 with over 40,000 horsepower and 130 boats exploit rivers and lagoons. All vessels and boats are equipped with modern technical equipment: walkie-talkies, positioning devices, fish finders and other modern types.

In recent times, the locality has encouraged fishermen to build new high-capacity ships and improve fishing equipment to increase production efficiency, so the output always exceeds the planned target. In 2024, the marine output will reach over 4,128 tons, thereby not only improving people's lives but also contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality. Phu Hai fishermen have applied science and technology in the production process, so the output and quality are increasing.

The leaders of Phu Hai commune called on fishermen to continue investing in upgrading high-capacity boats, improving fishing gear, investing in modern equipment, diversifying types of aquatic products caught, determined to fulfill the commune's 2025 target, and at the same time contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty of the homeland's sea and islands.

On this occasion, the Chairman of Phu Hai Commune People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 3 groups and 11 individuals with outstanding achievements in fishing in 2024. After the drum beat, the fleet of ships left the anchorage, headed out to sea, opening a new fishing year.
