On the morning of September 5, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha attended the opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 school year at Doan Thi Diem Secondary School (Can Tho city).
The Deputy Prime Minister shared his special feelings when he was able to celebrate with teachers and students for the first time at the opening ceremony of the new school year in the Southern land, at the school with a rich tradition and a history of more than 100 years named after poetess Doan Thi Diem.
After a long summer vacation, Doan Thi Diem school yard today is filled with joy, the warm affection of teachers; joy and happiness shine in the eyes of students on the first day of school.

Impressed and highly appreciative of the results that teachers and students of Doan Thi Diem Secondary School have achieved over the past years, the Deputy Prime Minister said that teachers, students of Doan Thi Diem Secondary School and their families have the right to be proud of the tradition, depth of expertise and outstanding achievements in teaching, learning and training.
Teachers and students of Doan Thi Diem Secondary School have always made outstanding efforts, received attention and support from local authorities and students' families... to create an exemplary, high-quality educational environment.
At the ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister sent his love and affection to the students. At their "fairy" age, they live in a loving environment with teachers; freely play with friends and explore a wide horizon of knowledge; are educated in the beautiful historical and cultural traditions, full of pride of their homeland and nation; learn lessons about self-respect, honesty, tolerance... and are trained in the necessary skills of a global citizen in the new era.

During the opening ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister hoped that each student would always study hard, love their family, be compassionate, share and sympathize with difficult circumstances, love beauty, love nature, be conscious of physical training, exercise and play sports regularly and study foreign languages well to access the treasure trove of knowledge and culture of humanity.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, in a world of constant movement and rapid change, where new knowledge and new skills will lead development trends, each student needs to promote the spirit of self-study, self-discovery and creativity; become lifelong learners, constantly striving to improve themselves to be ready to master new knowledge and adapt to rapid global changes.

"From here, you will grow up to become global citizens, equipped with global knowledge and skills, with an industrial, civilized, modern lifestyle but always full of passionate love for the country, people, and homeland; always making the greatest effort to contribute to the cause of industrialization, modernization, development and protection of the Fatherland," said the Deputy Prime Minister and sent a special message to the students of the Mekong Delta, the place most heavily affected by climate change and rising sea levels, pioneering practical actions, inspiring the community to proactively implement effective adaptation measures to climate change and environmental protection.

Looking at the students' faces beaming with joy and excitement on their first day of school, the Deputy Prime Minister believes that "Vietnam will definitely step up to the stage of glory, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers" as beloved Uncle Ho always wished.
"I really look forward to good news from teachers and students of Doan Thi Diem Secondary School. If possible, at the end of each semester, student representatives will write to me to announce the most outstanding results. I will have gifts to congratulate and share the joy with the children," the Deputy Prime Minister confided.

Respectfully and moved by the sharing, sympathy and helping hearts of "Teacher with a pink heart Huynh Thi My Phuong", the Deputy Prime Minister hopes that Ms. Phuong will continue to spread love to the community with the teachers and students in the school.
The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that schools are an important environment to train personality and educate the young generation to become people with comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics, with patriotism, national pride and self-respect, awareness and responsibility for the country, community, family and themselves.

In any era, teachers are always respected and have high expectations from society, not only for their knowledge and qualifications but also for their dedication and wisdom to the glorious cause of education and training.
Teachers need to always strive, cultivate, and improve themselves, and be remembered by their students as examples of a thirst for learning and dedication to their homeland and country; examples of compassion and noble values.
Each teacher should light up in generations of Vietnamese students the flame of intelligence, patriotism, love for the nation, sense of responsibility, and aspiration to rise up and protect the rich and beautiful Vietnam; worthy of President Ho Chi Minh's advice: "A good teacher, a worthy teacher is the most glorious teacher, even though his name is not published in the newspaper, and he is not awarded a medal. However, good teachers are unsung heroes. This is a very glorious thing, if there are no teachers to educate the people's children, how can we build Socialism?"

Emphasizing the importance of building a safe and healthy learning environment, towards a united learning community, where every student has the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their talents, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Education and Training and the People's Committee of Can Tho City to continue to pay more attention to the regime and policies for teachers, facilities and learning equipment to effectively implement the new general education program, achieve the goals of universal education stated in the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress, ensuring the principle of "where there are students, there must be teachers in the classroom".
On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister would like to express his sincere thanks to the parents for always giving their children boundless love, care and creating the most thoughtful conditions for them to study and practice with peace of mind. It is the love and care for education in the family environment that is an important factor in building a good education system.
