At the drug rehabilitation facility in Vinh Long province (Tuong Loc commune, Tam Binh district), Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and his delegation visited and encouraged drug addicts at the facility to try to quit their drugs and soon reintegrate into the community.

Reporting to the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Vo Van Tam, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vinh Long province, said that the drug rehabilitation facility was established in 1993.
After many name changes and improvements, the multi-functional facility now performs the tasks of receiving, managing, detoxifying, consulting on addiction treatment, organizing labor therapy and vocational training for subjects who are voluntary drug addicts, compulsory drug addicts according to the Court's Decision, and social subjects without a place of residence; determining addiction status and providing voluntary drug addiction treatment services at home and in the community.
The facility has a total land area of 69,599m2, divided into 3 areas with many facilities: ultrasound machine, X-ray, sauna, gym, soccer field, barber shop, vocational training, computer room, karaoke room,... serving drug addicts.
Currently, the facility is managing 128 students, including 93 students undergoing compulsory drug rehabilitation according to the Court's decision and 34 students undergoing voluntary drug rehabilitation, and 1 social subject.

In the first 6 months of 2023, the facility received 101 new students; resolved the reintegration of 100 students. Organized detoxification and treatment for 9,227 students. The facility ensures security and order, especially during holidays and Tet. In general, students comply with the rules and regulations; each officer enhances his/her sense of responsibility during his/her shift, regularly inspects, detects and promptly handles incidents arising within the camp to prevent drug smuggling and mass escapes.

According to Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh, up to now, 107 communes, wards and towns in the province have arranged locations and personnel to receive applications, provide guidance on voluntary drug addiction registration; assign people to perform tasks of psychological and social counseling, management, support for voluntary drug addiction treatment subjects at home, in the community and post-drug addiction treatment management.
The province determined that the fight against drug abuse is still extremely difficult and complicated, requiring the determination of the entire political system and the participation and support of the people.
In the coming time, Vinh Long province will continue to closely follow the programs and plans of the central government and the province, and complete the specific regulations on mechanisms and policies to support the implementation of drug addiction treatment and post-treatment management in the province...
