Ban Lau has an area of ​​about 227 hectares, with 72 households, 341 people and 3 ethnic groups Kinh, Thai, Tho living together, of which, Kinh ethnic group accounts for more than 95% of the population, mainly people from Nghi Thai commune (Nghi Loc) who came to build a new homeland.

To achieve new rural standards, the cadres and people of Lau village have promoted the strength of solidarity and internal strength in the community. In 2 years (2022-2023), the people of Lau village have contributed more than 600 million VND and more than 600 working days to concretize nearly 5 km of internal village roads and nearly 3 km of internal field ditches. The village currently has no dilapidated or makeshift houses.

In 2023, the estimated average income per capita will reach 42.89 million VND/year. During the year, 4 households escaped poverty, and the current poverty rate of the village is 9.72%.

At the ceremony, the government and people of Lau village also organized many cultural and artistic activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Nghi Thai commune (Nghi Loc) households moving to build a new homeland in Chau Ly commune (Quy Hop). Previously, 24 households (including 127 people) from Nghi Thai commune, Nghi Loc district volunteered to settle in 3 villages of Chau Ly commune. Of which, 6 households (30 people) lived in Bung village (now Choong Bung village), and 18 households (97 people) moved to Pu Cai Ve, later renamed Lau village.
