On September 30, Mr. Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the landslides in Ky Son district after the recent floods. He was accompanied by leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Provincial Police, the Provincial Border Guard Command and the Provincial Military Command.

On the road from Chieu Luu commune to Bao Thang commune, the section passing through Xieng Thu village, due to the impact of the recent heavy rain, a landslide occurred, thousands of cubic meters of rock and soil fell onto the road, causing traffic congestion for many days.
Here, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De directed local authorities to mobilize vehicles and human resources to clear the road for people to travel after the rain stops.

The delegation also visited Xop Thap village of Huu Lap commune, where strong stream water caused landslides on the vital road from Huu Lap commune to Bao Nam commune. Provincial leaders requested local authorities to find solutions to prevent landslides in this area.


In Hoa Son village, Ta Ca commune, where last year a historic flash flood occurred, on these days of heavy rain, the water of Huoi Giang stream flows strongly, threatening people's property and houses. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested local authorities to regularly monitor the weather and mobilize people to move to safe places when there is heavy rain, to avoid damage to people and property.

The delegation also went to Ban Ve Hydropower Plant (Tuong Duong) to grasp the water regulation situation of the plant. According to the report of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant, the Plant is currently regulating the water level in the reservoir, with a discharge flow of 800m3/s.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De requested Ban Ve Hydropower Plant to strictly regulate water to ensure safety for the plant and downstream areas.

According to a report by the People's Committee of Ky Son district, during the recent floods, 13 landslides occurred on main roads in the district; 47 houses were affected; 32 households had to be evacuated; 7 houses had to be urgently relocated.
In Xop Thap and Na villages of Huu Lap commune, 145 households were isolated due to the rapid flow of water in streams and creeks causing flooding in Xop Thap and Cha Lan stream. Dinh Son 1 spillway in Huu Kiem commune was flooded, isolating Dinh Son 2 village with 86 households. In Chieu Luu commune, Thu stream water rose high and flooded all the spillways, isolating 5 villages (Xieng Thu, Luu Hoa, La Ngan, Tat Thoong, Luu Thang) with 696 households.../.
