Kinhtdothi - On the morning of December 9, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong visited and presented gifts to retired military generals in Nam Tu Liem district, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.
Accordingly, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong and the Hanoi delegation visited and presented gifts to General Ngo Xuan Lich - former member of the Politburo, former Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, former Minister of National Defense, currently retired in My Dinh 2 ward, Nam Tu Liem district; visited and presented gifts to Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Rinh, former Deputy Minister of National Defense, currently retired in Cau Dien ward, Nam Tu Liem district.
Visiting and presenting gifts to General Ngo Xuan Lich and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Rinh and their families, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong emphasized that the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) is an important occasion for the Party Committee, government and people of the capital to express their respect and gratitude to previous generations. At the same time, it is an opportunity to educate the younger generation about the responsibility of protecting the Fatherland as well as respect for the contributions of previous generations. According to the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, on this occasion, Hanoi organized many delegations to visit and express gratitude to comrades who are high-ranking generals in the army and veterans who have made many contributions to the cause of building, protecting and developing the country and the capital.
On this occasion, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong informed retired military officers in the area about the socio-economic development situation of Hanoi since the beginning of the year. In particular, the total state budget revenue in the area is expected to reach VND 492,309 billion, reaching 120.5% of the estimate, up 19.6% compared to 2023. It is expected that in 2024, the total state budget revenue in the city will reach VND 500,000 billion. Along with socio-economic development, the city always pays attention to social security work; currently, 18/30 districts/towns of the city no longer have poor households; the number of near-poor households has also decreased sharply and next year the city's poverty line will continue to be raised to a higher level than the national average. At the same time, Hanoi always focuses on digital transformation; promote the development of cultural industries..., thereby promoting comprehensive development in all fields.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong also said that this year the City will continue to realize the important goals and contents in Resolution No. 15-NQ/TU (dated May 5, 2022) of the 13th Politburo on "Orientations and tasks for the development of Hanoi Capital to 2030, with a vision to 2045". In particular, the City is specifying the contents of the amended Law on the Capital; at the same time, it is implementing many contents according to the Hanoi Capital Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; and the upcoming Project to adjust the overall Master Plan of Hanoi Capital to 2045, with a vision to 2065.
According to Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong, the common successes of the city always have the contribution and support of the Vietnam People's Army, therefore, the city hopes that retired military officers in the area will continue to pay attention and contribute ideas to the common activities of the city. At the same time, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee also suggested that Nam Tu Liem district regularly pay attention to and organize activities to honor families of policy beneficiaries and families of meritorious people living in the area.
Expressing their emotions when receiving the leaders of Hanoi City to visit and encourage them, General Ngo Xuan Lich and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Rinh congratulated the city's socio-economic development achievements in 2024, and at the same time, highly appreciated the attention of the city's authorities at all levels in the past time for the Vietnam People's Army forces stationed in the area. They affirmed that they will continue to participate and contribute to local activities, accompanying the Party Committees and authorities at all levels to build a rich, beautiful, cultural, civilized and modern capital.
