(HQ Online) - According to Decision 118/QD-TCHQ dated January 23, 2024 of the General Department of Customs on the Plan for developing the partnership between Customs - Enterprises and related parties in 2024, one of the key contents is to strengthen cooperation between Customs agencies and Enterprises.

In order to deepen the Customs-Business partnership in general, including the cooperation between Customs agencies and businesses, into a more substantial and effective one, local Customs units have been and are having many creative ways of doing things.

The "first visit" of the first day of the New Year of the Dragon 2024 by the leaders of Bac Ninh Customs Department at companies belonging to Trina Solar Group (February 20, 2024) is an example.

In the working program, in addition to the contents such as grasping the situation of production and business activities, proposals and recommendations of enterprises; the Customs agency propagates, guides, disseminates laws...; visits to factories... Bac Ninh Customs Department and enterprises organized a friendly football match.

The friendly match took place right at the location of the enterprise with the participation and encouragement of the leaders of Bac Ninh Customs Department, leaders of Trina Solar Group and many employees of the enterprise.

With the enthusiastic cheers of the audience, the players of both teams tried their best, determined to compete and contributed to a beautiful match with many goals. The match ended with a score of 4-2 in favor of Bac Ninh Customs Department.

“The result of the match is not as important as the fact that through this event, we will strengthen the connection and cooperation between businesses and the Customs agency because the highest goal is for the Customs agency to perform well its management role and facilitate businesses. In return, businesses will be supported to comply with and abide by the law and develop stable and sustainable production and business activities in Vietnam,” said Director of the Bac Ninh Customs Department Tran Duc Hung before the match.

Speaking to reporters outside the stadium, Mr. LU SONGBO, Import and Export Director of Trina Solar Group (a Chinese FDI enterprise) said that the Group is a leading enterprise specializing in researching, manufacturing solar panels and investing in renewable energy solutions in the world, with over 50 branches worldwide, and products present in more than 150 countries.

“We have contacted and processed procedures with customs agencies in many countries. Objectively, Vietnam Customs has a modern level on par with leading ASEAN countries. However, what we feel is different in Vietnam is the enthusiastic and thoughtful support of the customs agency. We are a new enterprise operating in Vietnam (starting production from 2021), so we do not fully understand many legal regulations. However, Bac Ninh Customs Department, especially Thai Nguyen Customs Branch, has enthusiastically guided us, and any difficulties or problems during the procedure have been promptly resolved, so that goods can be cleared quickly. The enthusiastic and effective support of the customs agency is one of the important driving forces for the Group to decide to soon increase its investment capital in Thai Nguyen to nearly 1 billion USD after only 3 years of production”, Mr. LU SONGBO expressed.

Directly witnessing the exciting atmosphere on the football field and the opinions of the leaders of the Customs and enterprises, we see that, in addition to the "hard" solutions in the plan of the General Department of Customs and local customs departments, the above-mentioned friendly football match can be considered one of the "soft solutions" (cultural and sports exchanges) to implement the Customs - Enterprise partnership more and more practically, effectively and achieve the goals set by the Customs sector: To have the business community and relevant parties support and actively participate in the process of customs reform and modernization; contribute to improving the effectiveness of implementing customs policies and laws and performing public duties in the Customs sector...
