Diversified forms of propaganda
Voluntary social insurance and health insurance are humane policies of the Party and State, contributing to ensuring social security. Therefore, the Party Committee, government, associations and unions in the province have actively participated, joined hands to propagate and mobilize people to participate in voluntary social insurance and health insurance.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, President of the Women's Union of Hau Giang province, said: "In the past time, the Women's Union of the province has directed the Women's Unions of districts, towns and cities to coordinate with the Social Insurance to sign programs and action plans, propose solutions and especially promote propaganda and mobilization work, mobilizing members and women to clearly understand the purpose and benefits of participating in social insurance and health insurance, linking personal responsibility with family, relatives and the community. Mobilizing women members in rural areas and ethnic minority areas with difficulties to actively participate in health insurance to have enough conditions for medical examination and treatment when sick or ill...".

Identifying propaganda as a key step, nearly 141,000 women's union members have actively promoted voluntary social insurance and health insurance policies, contributing to bringing the policies closer to the people. Unions at all levels have also promoted propaganda through electronic information pages such as fanpages of the Women's Union at all levels, zalo groups of the union system, zalo pages, personal Facebook pages of union officials from the province to the grassroots. With rich and diverse forms of propaganda, there has been a strong change in awareness and action among cadres, members, women and the community in participating in family health insurance and voluntary social insurance.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Han, President of the Women's Union of Hoa An Commune, Phung Hiep District, Hau Giang Province said: “We focus on promoting the purpose, meaning, and benefits of participating in voluntary social insurance and family health insurance. Specifically, when participating in voluntary social insurance for the required number of years and reaching retirement age, you will receive a monthly pension and a free health insurance card. When participating in health insurance, you will receive health care when you are sick or ill, reducing your family's financial burden; you can pay according to your household, choose the initial medical examination and treatment facility…”.
Along with propaganda work, the Women's Union at all levels also implements many models, thereby helping women have more conditions to participate in voluntary social insurance and health insurance for themselves and their families.
Practical and meaningful models
Based on the local reality, some women are still in difficult circumstances and do not have the conditions to participate in voluntary health insurance and social insurance for themselves and their families. Therefore, the Women's Union of Bay Ngan town, Chau Thanh A district has established a women's group to pool capital to buy health insurance and social insurance in hamlets 4B and 3A. According to Ms. Vo Thi Hong Hen, Vice President of the Women's Union of Bay Ngan town, the women's group to pool capital to buy health insurance and social insurance in hamlet 3A has 15 members and hamlet 4B has 12 members, operating in the form of revolving capital contribution. Each month, each woman contributes from 100,000 to 150,000 VND.
From the available capital, members will meet to consider giving priority to members who are due to renew their health insurance, and so on in rotation. At the same time, each woman puts 10,000 VND in her piggy bank every day to participate in voluntary social insurance for herself or her family members. Thereby, helping everyone have the best health care conditions as well as a pension in old age, without having to rely on their children and grandchildren.
In Kinh Cung town, Phung Hiep district, in order to help women participate in health insurance to receive health care, in 2020, the Women's Union of Kinh Cung town established the model "Turning waste into health insurance cards" in Hamlet 6.
According to Ms. Ha Thi Thuy Trang, President of the Women's Union of Kinh Cung town, the model involves members sorting and collecting used plastic bottles, paper, etc. to sell to raise funds. Every month, they contribute the above amount to buy health insurance cards to give to members of the model. Thanks to this, all women in difficult circumstances have health insurance cards to take care of their health. From the effectiveness of the model in Hamlet 6, the Women's Union of the town has directed the expansion of the model to the women's associations of the remaining hamlets in the area.
Currently, the whole province has over 125 clubs, groups and teams with more than 1,750 members participating in the above models. The models, clubs, groups and teams maintain regular activities and have contributed to bringing policies to the people. In order to effectively implement insurance targets as well as contribute to ensuring social security, in the coming time, the Women's Union at all levels will continue to coordinate and strengthen propaganda and mobilization work in many forms, deploy effective models on voluntary social insurance and health insurance policies so that people understand and voluntarily participate...
