TPO - Donald Trump shared on his personal page a series of photos of Taylor Swift created by artificial intelligence. These images contain false content related to the pop superstar's political views in the 2024 US presidential election.

On August 18, Donald Trump posted on his personal account on the American social networking platform Truth Social a poster of Taylor Swift standing in front of the American flag in a bold American-style outfit. In the photo, the singer, born in 1989, points her finger forward, with the large text: “Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump.” According to Page Six , the poster was created by artificial intelligence (AI), inspired by the iconic recruitment flyer “I Want You in the US Army” with the image of Uncle Sam (a personification of the US) in the center.

The post also included what were allegedly fake images of Taylor's fans. In it, Swifties were wearing "Swifties For Trump" T-shirts. While the photo of a single woman was said to be real, seven other photos of fans wearing similar T-shirts were all created using AI. It is unclear whether the former US President knew he was sharing the edited image, but he clearly enjoyed the content, as shown by the short status: "I agree!" After learning that Mr. Trump had shared the image on Truth Social, the original post owner on X explained that he had added a red "Satire" warning to the AI-generated image. According to this person, this method is sometimes used to express personal opinions or simply to make people laugh. Representatives for Swift and Trump did not comment when contacted by the press. However, many Taylor fans laughed at the Trump Tower boss for his "desperate" attempt to gain support from the Swifties community despite the truth. Netizens commented: "Yes, he is also famous for spreading false rumors", "Are you lying to us about Trump posting this status? How ridiculous"... Besides, many people criticized the author of the fake photo for contributing to the chaos of the internet, encouraging people to use AI for useless purposes.
