Democratic candidate Kamala Harris is scheduled to record an interview with Spanish-language television network Telemundo. Meanwhile, Republican candidate Donald Trump held a roundtable event with Latino leaders in Florida, where he called the border the “biggest problem” facing the United States. Both campaigns are pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into a last-ditch effort to attract undecided voters who could give their candidates a big advantage in the race to become president. Polls show both candidates locked in a tight race ahead of the early November election. At a meeting with Latino leaders, Trump accused President Joe Biden of opening the door to “thousands of illegal immigrants.” A Latino speaker also made baseless accusations that Trump won the 2020 election, and called Vice President Harris and outgoing President Joe Biden “human traffickers.” Harris, meanwhile, has focused on the issue of abortion. Harris’s campaign announced that the vice president will travel to Texas on October 25, which it called “a hotbed of Trump’s extreme abortion bans.” Nearly 12 million voters in the United States had cast early ballots in the 2024 presidential election as of the end of October 19, according to data from the New York Times. They voted in person at polling stations or by mail.
