Officially joining the retail trade sector since 2006 at Saigon Co.op, Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc has held many important strategic positions that are decisive for the sustainable success of the unit. In March 2020, Saigon Co.op officially announced that it has a new General Director according to Decision No. 829/UBND-VX of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and Decision No. 20/QD-HDQT of Saigon Co.op on the official appointment of Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc.
During his time working at Saigon Co.op, Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc had many initiatives and contributions to the development of the unit, actively building and developing the cooperative collective economic model, especially in improving the system operation process and joint ventures to develop new modern retail models according to international standards.
Up to now, the Saigon Co.op system has more than 800 Co.opmart supermarkets, along with other names in the retail ecosystem such as Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smile, Cheers 24h, Sense City, SC Vivo City... covering all retail segments.
It is the effective operation and continuous diversification of activities that have helped Saigon Co.op become the consumer goods retailer with the most modern retail models in Vietnam today. Saigon Co.op's announced revenue in 2023 reached more than 33,000 billion VND, leading the country's consumer goods retail industry.
Not only has he successfully led Saigon Co.op, Mr. Duc is also an active member of the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association, the Vietnam Retailers Association, and a speaker at many prestigious domestic and international economic forums. Mr. Duc said that in his new role, he will apply his practical retail management experience to maximize the guiding and connecting role of the Vietnam Retailers Association.
The Vietnam Retailers Association was established with the desire to gather and connect Vietnamese retailers, create strength, and at the same time share information and experience, support, and cooperate to build an increasingly developed Vietnamese retail service industry.
At the same time, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Retailers Association also completed its apparatus through the election of a permanent Vice President and leading members of specialized committees including the Investment Promotion & International Relations Committee, the Policy & Law Committee, the Membership & Finance Committee, the Communications & Events Committee, etc.
