Mr. Koshida Takeshi becomes Technical Director of Vietnam Football

On the morning of June 1, Mr. Koshida Takeshi and his wife were present at the VFF headquarters in Hanoi to introduce themselves as Technical Director of Vietnam Football.

Mr. Koshida Takeshi is a rare expert who brought his wife to the VFF introduction. After the contract signing, the wife of the new Japanese Technical Director was invited to the stage to take a souvenir photo with the VFF leaders.

The contract between Mr. Takeshi and VFF takes effect from June 1 with an undisclosed duration.

Koshida Takeshi, born in 1960, is a candidate recommended by the Japan Football Federation's professional board to the VFF. He has 30 years of experience working with major teams and youth teams.

Mr. Takeshi spent many years contributing to Japanese football as a player, before moving into coaching in 1995.

He has been the head coach of the Ishikawa regional football team, led the Kanazawa Sakuragaoka school team, technical director of the Zweigen Kanazawa Club, and a professional advisor for Hokuriku University since 2013.

With experience in competition and coaching, Mr. Koshida Takeshi was trusted and invited to participate in national coach training for the Japan Football Federation at level C, B, A courses.

Becoming the Technical Director of Vietnamese football, Mr. Takeshi was assigned many important tasks.

Mr. Koshida Takeshi will participate in teaching coaching courses and seminars organized by VFF, coordinating with the professional department and coaches of VFF youth teams to jointly orient and train Vietnamese youth football.

Besides, he is also responsible for training human resources for Vietnamese football, especially the young coach system and technical directors for football clubs and centers.

The new Technical Director will also play an effective role as an advisor to VFF and the head coaches of the national teams, including Coach Troussier.

Mr. Takeshi said at the launching ceremony: "I am very honored to take on the position of Technical Director of VFF. I feel very lucky and grateful for this job. Vietnam has a developing football industry, especially youth football.

I hope I can contribute my efforts to training the next generation and help the Vietnamese team attend the 2026 or 2030 World Cup."

During his time working in Vietnam, Mr. Takeshi and his wife were arranged to stay in the housing area for foreign experts, on the VFF campus, next to Coach Troussier's house.

The Japanese expert said that this is a favorable condition for him to regularly discuss work with coach Troussier.

Speaking to the press at the ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Anh Tu said: “The signing of the contract with Mr. Takeshi as Technical Director by the Vietnam Football Federation demonstrates the success of the close relationship between the Vietnam Football Federation and the Japan Football Federation (JFA).

According to the JFA, Mr. Takeshi is one of the best experts in Japan. One of Mr. Takeshi's tasks in the coming time is to be in charge of coach training and the youth player training system.

Mr. Takeshi's mission is considered comprehensive in the role of Technical Director of the Vietnam Football Federation. Mr. Takeshi is also very excited to take on this task."

The event of Mr. Koshida Takeshi taking on the position of Technical Director of the Vietnam Football Federation also shows the efforts of the Vietnam Football Federation in investing deeply in foreign experts with high professional qualifications and extensive experience.

Thereby contributing to helping Vietnamese football continue to build the necessary foundations towards the goal of stable and sustainable development.
