Ms. Nguyen Thai Ha - CEO of John Hunt - shared this with students of the National Economics University (Hanoi) on the afternoon of August 26, at the event Whose chance talk x NEU with the theme Personal brand + AI - The secret to conquering employers and breaking through in your career.
Whose chance talk is a series of events within the ecosystem of Whose chance - Whose chance, a TV show about jobs broadcast annually on VTV3.
Attending the event on the afternoon of August 26, in addition to Ms. Thai Ha, there were other speakers.
The office work environment has changed.
Sharing about the current corporate culture story, Ms. Thai Ha said there have been many very positive changes.
She shared her personal story, before she went to work, her father was very worried about his outspoken and strong-willed daughter who could not hide her thoughts. Her father worriedly told her before she entered the office environment: "How can you survive in the office?"

At that time, Ms. Thai Ha sympathized with her father's concerns. She understood that in the minds of many people of the previous generation, "the office is a place where people have to wear a mask, not allowed to be themselves". But this HR expert's observations show that the office environment is very different now.
When young people go to work, they seek a balance between work and life, looking for similarities between their outlook on life and the core values of the business.
Therefore, young people will look for a working environment with a culture that matches their values, rather than "wearing a mask" to try to survive in an unsuitable environment to keep their job.
Along with the change of employees, bosses and colleagues must also change. To create a comfortable, pleasant working environment, where everyone can be frank with each other.

Personal brand must be built early
Regarding personal branding, Ms. Thai Ha said the concept is misunderstood a lot. Some people say personal branding is having many followers on social networks. That is only one of the six pillars that make up a personal brand.
According to her, a person's personal brand is expressed through six factors: the first is your professional capacity, the second is your social relationships, the fourth is your integrity and level of influence, the fifth is your image on social networks, and the sixth is what others say about you.
She affirmed that personal branding is very important for young people when entering the working environment.
Whether or not employers state that they need candidates with personal brands, candidates with strong personal brands are the candidates chosen.
In fact, the questions asked in a job interview are also intended to outline the candidate's personal brand.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu - Deputy General Director of Bao Ngoc Investment Group Joint Stock Company - also shares the same opinion. He said that those who build a good personal brand and leave an impression on more people will have more job opportunities.
Ms. Thai Ha advised young people to build their personal brand early. Mr. Hieu instructed that when young people have education and skills, they need to focus on their personal brand.
Young people should constantly "feed their brains"
Giving advice to young people when working, Mr. Hieu told them to work carefully from the smallest things because no matter how hard you try, just one mistake can be seen by your boss and the entire work can be evaluated.
In addition, young people should not work with the attitude of working for a salary, but work wholeheartedly, doing the job, not just finishing the job.
And especially, my sincere advice to Gen Z is to study continuously, to "compress yourself". Because like a spring, the more compressed it is, the better the rebound.
Ms. Thai Ha also emphasized that young people need to study, acquire knowledge, accumulate personal experiences, and constantly "feed their brains".
