Female student is 'Children's National Assembly President' nominated as Outstanding Young Vietnamese Face

Dang Cat Tien (grade 9/3 student, Thai Nguyen Secondary School, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa ) shared that she was very happy and surprised to be nominated for Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces. This is an opportunity for her to learn and also a motivation for her to continue striving.

Dang Cat Tien is the Team Leader of Thai Nguyen Secondary School. He always demonstrates his ability in group activities and is trusted and loved by his friends and teachers.

Previously, in September 2023, Dang Cat Tien excelled over other child delegates in the interview round, taking on the role of National Assembly Chairman in the first simulated session of the "Children's National Assembly". 263 children from all over the country discussed "Prevention of accidents, injuries, violence, and child abuse" and "Protecting children to interact healthily and creatively in the online environment".

Dang Cat Tien confidently led a successful meeting with many opinions from young delegates revolving around the above two topics.

Participating in a large-scale activity for the first time with the participation of Party and State leaders, Cat Tien said that before participating in the activity, she had thoroughly researched the contents related to children, the guidelines, policies, and laws of the Party, State, National Assembly, and Government in implementing children's rights, and the Law on Children. Therefore, she understood all the contents of the hypothetical meeting and managed it smoothly.

Although actively participating in extracurricular activities and Youth Union activities, Tien still balances her time to invest in studying. Dang Cat Tien's list of winners in provincial and central level competitions and activities increases with each school year.

Dang Cat Tien won the First Prize in the storytelling contest "Uncle Ho, a boundless love" at the provincial level in 2020; the First Prize in the National Young Historian Contest in 2021; the Second Prize in the National Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2021; the First Prize in the Online English Contest - Excellent Team Commander at the provincial level in 2022; the title "Brave Hero of a Thousand Good Deeds" at the provincial level in 2023; and excellent achievements at the 4th National Excellent Team Commander Festival in 2023. Tien's academic achievements have always been at the top of the class in all 3 years of grades 6, 7, and 8.

Ms. Phan Thi Thao Uyen - Principal of Thai Nguyen Secondary School said that Dang Cat Tien is an excellent student of the school. Tien is a dynamic team leader, has many collective activity skills, helping the team activities and school movements achieve many good results. Cat Tien is very friendly, sociable with friends, is an example in both studying and collective activities for other students to follow.

At this time, Dang Cat Tien is focusing on English competitions and the goal of passing the English Specialized class at Le Quy Don High School.

Speaking about the Children's National Assembly's mock session, Dang Cat Tien said: "Recently, there have been many incidents related to cyber safety for students. There have been cases where children have been abused and suffered tragic injuries. Therefore, although it is a mock session, this is an opportunity for children to speak up about issues related to children."

According to Dang Cat Tien, it is necessary to have measures to help children equip themselves with knowledge and life skills so that they can protect themselves and seek the support of adults when necessary.
